Has anything relevant been made public about possible motives for the attack since the perpetrator's name was released?

Don't you think the trial would be the place for that?

The wife of a Conservative councillor has been jailed for 31 months after pleading guilty to publishing written material to stir up racial hatred after the Southport stabbings.

Former childminder Lucy Connolly published a post on her X account, which she later deleted, that called for "mass deportation now", and for hotels housing asylum seekers to be set on fire, adding: "If that makes me racist, so be it."

The 41-year-old, from Northampton, later apologised for acting on "false and malicious" information.

Connolly, who is married to West Northamptonshire councillor Raymond Connolly, was jailed at Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday after pleading guilty to publishing written material to stir up racial hatred.

Mr Connolly declined to comment as he left the court.

The sentencing hearing was told Connolly sent a WhatsApp message on 5 August joking the tweet to her 10,000 followers had "bit me on the arse, lol".

She also sent another tweet commenting on a sword attack which read: "I bet my house it was one of these boat invaders," the court heard.

The boy's been charged with having an Al Qaeda terrorist manual amongst other things.

This is going to stir up even more shit this now.

Hopefully the idiots will have seen the sentences dished out and think twice.

And with that racist cunt Yaxley-Lennon banged up there won’t be the chief cheerleader this time.

I'm really angry with the authorities here. They said there was nothing terror-related about this incident whereas the likes of Farage were claiming that information was being hidden from the public.

They’ve found this out days later though. The Farage/Twitter stuff played out in real time.

What would the nationwide kick-offs had been like if they’d revealed this as they were finding it? Not to mention it would have definitely 100% compromised the lad’s right to a fair trial, terrorist or not. It still might, revealing it now, but it would have just fanned the flames of the moronic rioting.

So he was a terrorist afterall?

Hopefully he never sees the light of day again and ends up in prison and not some mental hospital.

I think that was pretty much a given anyway. Three murders and ten attempted murders against mostly kids, nobody’s ever getting anything other than full life term(s) for something so heinous.

The authorities said that the murders weren't a terrorist incident.

That's still the case.

To be pedantic, he didn't have a terrorist manual: he had a military study of an all Qaeda training manual.

The nuances in there are a bit much for the public I think.

He'd been making poison & reading Al Qaeda manuals before he murdered a load of kids. Them saying he is not a terrorist is likely even worse than stating he is, in terms of the reaction it might provoke.

Agreed

Huge fuck up this.

They could have just said they were keeping an open mind instead of dismissing it completely.

This is going to be hugely damaging for both starmer and the police and just plays into the absurd 2 tier bollocks

I think the fact that they initially denied any terrorist link us damaging

And why is it just coming out now?

They've got to go with a factual application of the law, though.  But you're right, Fascists in Parliament, in the media and on the streets will run amok with this.
