When City brought on Kovacic, Lewis, and Gundogan, they went back to the players that have made them what they are this season. Slow, weak, passive, and vulnerable. 

It was obvious they were there to be got at in the final 15 minutes. The keeper was always overrated because of his ability on the ball but he has fallen this season. His decision making is apalling

Madrid were far the superior side, even without arguably their whole first choice back line (if you include Alaba over Mendy). 
 

They don’t really do a lot in terms of playing with intensity off the ball to close down, their way is clearly to work smarter and not harder which is why they were able to (with the help of some defensive errors) able to turn the game with 10-15mins to go.

 

For me they should’ve come away with a greater advantage to take back to the Bernabeu, front 4 were all frustratingly wasteful.
