City are still well in the title race - not based on typical logic, but because it’s January and they’re the only team in the world capable of inexplicably winning every one of the rest of their games after a poor start.

Commentator on Sky pointed out that if they win all their remaining games, they'll get 86 points, which is what won them the title in 20/21.

He didn't mention that they're currently 12 points worse off than they were after 22 games that season.

City will be really tough when we go there next month.

They're not in any title race, but they'll take immense pleasure in doing their best to stop us. They'll be at Everton levels of pettiness when we go there.

I'm guessing they'd have beaten Arsenal before then as well. Such a shame for them they've ended up 12 points behind with a worse goal difference and played a game more.

It's nuts to think of the money that Everton have pissed up the wall, while the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth, Fulham, etc are consistently better than them.

Mad how Heysel never affected any of them when they were all probably in the 3rd or 4th tier of English football and one of them had been playing at an athletics stadium because they had no ground of their own.

But it only affected Everton who broke the British transfer record a few years after it and have had access to Premier League money since its inception.

I’m not prepared to call them favourites at this juncture. Just that we’ll need 87 points to finish above them.

I bet one of the most enjoyable days of your life was telling your kids that Father Christmas wasn’t real.

If we drop ridiculous points at home or at places like Bournemouth or Everton before we play City (okay, Bournemouth are on a good run, but they’ve also failed to beat Brighton, West Ham and Crystal Palace at home since late November), they could yet end up being in a position that a win against us puts them back in the title race. So I think them not having more to play for is contingent on us doing the business before then.
