The OBR have said that the cuts won't save the 5bn Labour thought they would so they're cutting benefits even more, from The Guardian :

Further benefits cuts planned as Rachel Reeves forced to find extra £1.6bn

The UK 10 year gilt rate (cost of Government borrowing)  has gone up by 20% in a year. She doesn't have any choices left other than to cut spending. The markets don't give a fuck about ideology.

She does have other choices. She just won't exercise them.

What choices ? Last month the Government spent £10 billion more than it receives in revenue. That's about £328m per day being added to the national debt. Every day. Debt is now at the highest level since the 1960s. The country is going bankrupt.

Starmer has already said the increase in defence spending will be fully funded by the cuts in foreign aid

Announcing the defence spending plan, Sir Keir said the UK's aid budget would be reduced from 0.5% of gross national income to 0.3% in 2027, "fully funding the investment in defence", which will rise from 2.3% of GDP

Wes steering wrote a piece in today’s Times which is highly critical of the NHS. Boasts of cutting spending on certain treatments to “force the nhs to modernise” . I dont think this is what the party thought would happen.

Cant argue with that

id love to know who is advising them

They also weren't elected on a manifesto that said massive cuts to spending.

Yes good point. They also said counci tax bills wouldn’t go up, energy bills would come down and small boat crossings would stop. I think the electorate are beginning to realise that they may have been misled.

Happy to justify inflivcting pain on the poorest in society, then casually take free tickets to a concert those people couldn't hope to afford.

Fucking tone deaf, the lot of them. Not just Labour, the Tories and Reform as well.

I can't get excited about the tickets. Why is it even a story?

"Those with the broadest shoulders should bear the heaviest burden."

(In fairness, I had a mate who was a wheelchair user and his shoulders were pumped!)

Also, the 2019 Manifesto - which gained more votes and a greater vote share - said that the very richest would pay more.

It didn't say that.

It promised to freeze Corporation Tax and to "ensure taxes on working people are kept as low as possible".  It also promised to make tax fairer.

https://labour.org.uk/change/strong-foundations/

Nothing in that Manifesto precludes the introduction of a higher rate of Income Tax for the highest paid, or a Wealth Tax, or higher rates of Inheritance Tax, etc.

How much money?

I'm not precious about the details, but I've heard good suggestions for the threshold for a Wealth Tax being set at £10m or £20m.  A top rate for Income Tax could be set at £200k (or they could just increase the Additional Rate, on income over £125k, to something more than 45%).  Maybe introduce a higher rate of Inheritance Tax on estates over, say, £5m.

The point is, there is a fuck-ton of money in this country and the Chancellor has loads of scope to avoid punishing poor and disabled people.  She is not forced to make these cuts; she's choosing to, because she's a cunt.
