Happy to justify inflivcting pain on the poorest in society, then casually take free tickets to a concert those people couldn't hope to afford.

Fucking tone deaf, the lot of them. Not just Labour, the Tories and Reform as well.

Tone deaf. Or just don't give a shit. Or too idiotic to think of the repercussions?

It's little things like this which can be the downfall of MPs.

So the next plan appears to be to take away free school meals for kids. They are just the worst bunch of cunts ever to be in power.

Absolutely ashamed I voted for this scum. I'll never vote Labour again and I have been a life long labour supporter.

Is that true?

Not saying either way as I haven't seen the story but it'd be quite something if you increase breakfast club offering and then take away free lunches.

I think the problem with Starmer especially is that, instead of turning the country away from its - for want a better word - cuntery, he thinks he's got to lean into it.

Punishing people on the dole and the likes will have gone down a storm with Essex gold bracelet man in the focus groups. That being said, he still won't vote for you.

They are already toast. At this stage you just wonder how the next lot can be much worse.

Starmer is an absolute snake, Reeves is another Thatcher and the only reason they got in was people had had enough of the Tories and 14 years of cuts and austerity and were promised change by Labour. Absolutely everything in their manifesto was a lie.

They are now going to Austerity 2.0 at warp speed, seen at the past 14 years of cuts has gone so well.

They have betrayed Pensioners, The disabled, the Waspi woman, Businesses, and now children.

They are talking about getting people back into work, while at the same time businesses are laying people off due to the increase in NI contributionsnl and not taking people on.

So where are all these so called jobs for all the people they want to boot off the sick?

They are absolutely clueless and are more than happy to keep giving Ukraine billions, and spending billions on their net zero Bullshit

So, it's not true/confirmed then. I think an article saying that Labour "could" do this or that - with the basis of this claim being another speculative article in The Times - is a million miles away from amounting to confirmation that Labour are going to end free school meals.

They're a shocking government. But, let's beat them with the numerous bad things they've actually done, rather than things that others have speculated that they might do.

£10,000,000,000 for a new road and tunnel in the south east.

Nice for them.

They're all obsessed with big projects and high vis vests. They'd be better off lowering VAT and scrapping  that bonkers NI rise on companies which impacts sole traders and small businesses.

What in the name of fuckety fuck is a third runway going to do for Joe Sixpack?

By the time the third runway is ready it will probably coincide with the realisation that we need to cut flights/carbon to save the planet anyway.

I remember years ago somebody suggesting (may even have been on here) that we should put a tax on flights with an allowance of two a year to be tax free as a way to try and combat the climate crisis.

The OBR have said that the cuts won't save the 5bn Labour thought they would so they're cutting benefits even more, from The Guardian :

Quote

The chancellor is expected to announce an additional £500m in benefits cuts to make up part of the £1.6bn shortfall, first reported by the Times – with the rest of the gap filled by spending cuts elsewhere.

Reeves and her team were already braced for a renewed backlash over welfare as they prepared to publish impact assessments alongside Wednesday’s statement, which will show the full impact of the cuts. The additional measures are expected to include freezing the extra universal credit payment made to those people least able to work until 2030, after an initial cut.

Further benefits cuts planned as Rachel Reeves forced to find extra £1.6bn
