The Labour government thread

One thing I don't' quite understand is why they are asking the acute NHS trusts to reduce activity and make significant budget savings if they are trying to get on top of waiting lists and get people back to work quickly.

The hospital trusts in my patch are reducing their number of beds and clinical activity in 25/26.

Worth remembering PIP was brought in by Duncan Smith and now Labour are saying it is too generous.

Kendall and Reeves and co aren't doing this to impress Tory and Reform voters they are implementing these policies as they believe these people are beneath them and a drain on society. When you measure everything in GDP and prioritise what is good for business and the rich you end up here.

People shouldn't feel ashamed or embarrassed they were duped by Starmer and this iteration of the Labour party they didn't say in the manifesto they were going to fuck over the disabled, old people and kids.  Just don't mistake the same mistake and be duped again.

Unless they implement PR before the next election no vote for Labour and don't just spoil your ballot use it don't let the bastards deprive you of your democratic right.

Under the new system, people who cannot cook a simple meal for themselves but can heat food up in a microwave would not be eligible for the payments unless they have other needs to be taken into account. Needing assistance to wash their hair or their body below the waist would also be judged as insufficient to claim the payments, which are currently worth up to £185 a week.

I don't know that many were duped by Starmer, he's about as inspirational as seeing Rocky in a coma, more the fact he was the least worst option, which remains the case when you look at Badenoch. Their big policy release yesterday was no to net zero by 2050 or some shit, they also said the benefits cuts didn't go far enough.

I think a lot of people voting for them beleived that they were making the necessary noises to get in, before setting a more traditional Labour agenda. I didn't beleive that for a second given the players, but hoped I was wrong about them. I wasn't.

I’ve seen first hand through a family member the mess regarding PIP alone can cause people, anxiety and degrading ‘Questioning’ for a truthful disabilty.

I have no doubt and we all know a lot of people are false

y claiming and far more could have been done properly liaising with GP’s and having better qualified adjudicators.

The people rightfully’deserving’of help should not be made to feel like frauds.

I can claim PIP, everyone can use more assistance but I’m in a position not to need it and would not have put myself through this the suffering in brings. People have to through this and have no choice. There are plenty more ways to drag back money and more deserving targets.

A problem with PIP is that it’s largely geared towards physical health problems and disability, as opposed to mental health issues. Therefore, it can difficult to score enough points to qualify.

A lot of people with mental health issues need so much support just to get through dealing with the process alone it’s soul destroying. The system is not broken it’s shattered into a thousand pieces. Af for physical issues where do you start, peple who cannot even properly missing out on benefits while others who can work and struggle too also get benefits(rightly) get benefits.

Absolute bollocks. Seems the press are trying to use autism, ADHD etc to create a scapegoat. So much misinformation out there, dickheads on social media don't help either by pushing out bullshit content which is low hanging fruit for the media.

Face it we are on the timeline that leads towards an incredibly bleak dystopia. No one is fixing this shit, the greed at the top will keep sucking the life out of everything until they've only themselves left to gorge upon.

Nice blue skies today though.

The whole lazy shite like "It's overdiagnosed" when 0.3% of the population actually are. The actual worldwide prevalence is about 4% so it's massively under diagnosed in actual fact. The country is decades behind and there are huge wait lists because thousands weren't picked up during childhood so you have a backlog of adults who have been utterly screwed without any help. The frustrating thing is it's one of the easiest conditions to treat with medications we know work incredibly well with very minor side effects for the vast majority.

It'll be nothing because its probably so onerous a process that people wouldn't bother unless they genuinely needed it.
