The Labour government thread

Still apples and pears though IMO, it's easy to forget the depravity of the previous mob.

The likes of Steeting and Kendall are old school centre right turds spouting semi-understood dogma, they're not giving billion pound contracts to their golf buddies for stuff they know doesn't work, then laughing aboit people's grandmothers dying en masse.

It's a low bar I know.

It's a low bar but almost as dangerous when they're representing the Labour Party. Where the fuck can people go with this voting system? Vote Green and chuck your vote in the bin, get completely disengaged with the entire system which only helps the right, or, in the case of the criminally thick, vote Reform.

It's really fucking bad news having these utter cunts in the Labour Party.

I just feel stateless now

I will never ever vote Tory. That will never happen ever. It's just not possible.

The Tories had to go. They were a bunch of fucking thieves. Labour was the only way to get them out.

And now Labour continues with the time honoured practice of punching downwards.

So somebody so shameless that he would pay money to walk Johnsons dog, somebody so lacking in self respect, can in all seriousness ask us how voting Labour has gone

Fuck you Starmer Streeting and the lot of you you fucking cunts

Glad to see there's proper pushback on this now, Reeves is just an orthodoxy automaton, no ideas just patter. Growth, fiscal responsibility, 'red tape'. Nibbling around the edges bullshit.

Reform couldn't possibly hope for a better recruitment tool (with emphasis on the word "tool") than Reeves.

The bonkers bit about that though is that (a) they don't have any economic policies at all and (b) if they did they'd be even more right wing than her.

Yes, but that doesn't matter for them does it? It's like Trump, Bolsonaro or any of the other right wing nutters. They don't need policies to attract voters, they just need to point out issues with their centre/centre right counterparts.

And it's easy for them because said centre/centre right counterparts are doing absolutely fuck all for the majority of people.

This is the weird thing. Reform aren’t going to offer the people who are going to vote for them anything they want. In fact fuck knows what they will offer when the time comes, which is surely will now?

Will be an absolute car crash, it’s a party full of half wits. In fact be the absolute end of this country.

Not sure what Labour are hoping to achieve with this again, similar to the pension cuts. I actually think too many people don’t work. But the reasons are valid in most cases. There is a mental health epidemic in this country caused specifically by years of fucking austerity. If you hammer people into the ground and make life unbearably bleak for them what do you expect. Half the people in the town I grew up have crack and heroin related mental health issues now

You are trying to reason with people who think the immigration crises can be solved by turning boats back in the channel

the tories were ,mainly, booted out because they were absolute cunts.

labours solution is apparently to follow in their footsteps.

The guiding principle really should be - What would the Tories do? Let's do the opposite.

My worry is that the Starmerites might genuinely believe that they have an overwhelming public mandate for this shit. They need enough humility to recognise that the last election was more about the Tories losing than Starmer winning.

Those with the broadest shoulders should carry more of the burden my arse.

The Labour Party has been hijacked by right leaning liars who like the Tories see the sick and disabled as easy targets.

This current lot disgust me and I can't in good conscience have anything to do with them.

I've just resigned my membership.

I've voted Labour my entire adult life and I will never support them for as long as I live now. I am absolutely disgusted and ashamed to have anything to do with them.

They are just Red Tories.

I've never been fully on board with Starmer's Labour, but I didn't think that they would be this bad.

They are so scared of keeping the right wing media and red wall potential Reform voters happy that they are replicating if not out Torying the Tories on major issues and completely forgetting what they are supposed to stand for.

I'm feeling pretty naive at the moment but still hoping my gut feeling will be right, that Labour will need more than one term to achieve anything positive so they will simply have to do unpleasant things to appeal to unpleasant people and temper the right wing attacks.  Anything genuinely "good" will have to be done with no fanfare, almost by stealth and be prefaced with some headline grabbing nastiness.

I have never been onboard with Starmer ever and I don't like him at all, but I do think he's an intelligent man and has to find other ways to skin a cat.

I might be wishful thinking.
