The Sevilla game kick off at 5.30am where I’m currently holidaying. I woke early, had it on via headphones and then fell back to sleep at half time. 
 

From what I half saw / heard in the first half, I thought it was decent. Every goal was a peach. Can’t comment on the 2nd half. 
 

I woke and fully watched the first half of the Las Palmas game, obviously nowhere near the Sevilla game. I feel sorry for the players in that game. The earlier squad got 60k cheering them on, their game was back to COVID19 times. Couldn’t the club have played one game on the Saturday and one on the Sunday? Or had a double header with supporters today? I suppose it’s good virtually all the key players got c.75 mins. From what I saw, Jones was too slow realising the ball and Nunez was brain dead. 
 

Anyways, a promising pre-season. I know results so far mean nothing, I didn’t expect us to beat Arsenal or the mancs, in fact I expected reasonably heavy defeats. Most importantly, performances have been encouraging. Let’s get to work…

Despite what Gary Gillespie was saying, I didn't think he was offside, he didn't look ahead of the ball when it was played, despite being stood alone.

My thoughts too. People taking the piss because it was called offside . He did what a striker should do and put it in the net.

Lineker used to purposely be called offside early in games just to sow doubt in defenders minds.

Darwin has fucked all the defenders right up by doing it for a whole season. Their minds will be so full of doubt!

Interesting to see us scoring a few goals by drawing the opposition in then hitting it long like the good old days. Be interesting to see how Slot combats teams not leaving their own halves against us because he won’t have the advantage of having six opposition players in our half very often.

I think that'll be a struggle at anfield this season to be honest. The premier league teams can be so disciplined and so happy with a 0-0.
