You have to laugh at Football clubs really, 'We're all about diversity but let's get those ticket prices up & fuck the poor while we pay millionaires £350k per week.'.

Research shows having a social conscience for a brand can increase social media engagement by 2.4% and maximise revenues by 0.76% per quarter.

No Jones in the open training in Philadelphia.

It's the inevitability of it isn't it....He'll probably miss rest of pre-season then be 'behind' and unable to come into team for weeks - stink place out when he does, then just as he finally starts to get up to speed he'll get injured again....

Really want it to be different but fear it just won't be.

We need to be ruthless with injury prone players.  Its not their fault but quite frankly tough shit, they are paid very well and they need to be available.  If they aren't be injury prone somewhere else.  Some freak injuries happen but players that are continually absent just need fucking off regardless of talent

I hope Edwards really shows some resolve and sorts out these increasingly ridiculous summer commercial jaunts. We've a new manager who needs a low-key pre-season to work with a squad that is only starting to stagger back, and instead he's obliged to field teams that are slowly picking up new patterns of play against major rivals who are pretty settled in their styles. And all of this PR crap about 'these tours are real eye-openers to the players - they show how big the club really is' - really? It doesn't exactly look as though we're a Big Thing in Pittsburgh, even though the club seems to have given free passes to just about every YouTube fan group available. In future, one surely would hope, it should be a case of asking the manager/coach what kind of context he needs for his pre-season, and then planning whatever commercial opportunities around that programme - not the other way round.

Its accepted that the players get to short of a break. I'm sure being in America feels more like an extension of a break as opposed to 11 months solid in the Axa. Slot himself seemed shocked at the luxury of the plane, so it's not as if we're talking about then slogging across the States on greyhound.

Comfort clearly wasn't what I was discussing. Nor was any suggestion that it has to be a straight choice between flying off to prance about in front of a bunch of camera clicking 'fans' who probably support - or have the latest kits of - six or seven different clubs, or else being stuck at the AXA. As soon as Klopp had earned the power he made sure the over-long visits and the farcical sponsor stunts were cut to a minimum and he chose his preferred training camp (not the AXA). Preparation for a competitive season is hardly something to be dismissive about.

That's fair enough, I'm getting old, can barely remember Klopp, never mind his preseasons in the Alps.

Just watched the training vid from today. Ibou and gravenberch arriving. Not sure it was best advised for the editor to keep Harvey's cringey "namaste" at the end of their yoga stretching session in. But not half as offensive as his spinning back heel control before scuffing a shot during the shooting training.

Knock it on the noodle, son.
