Tony Gordon- Welcome to Liverpool

That’s one of the worst takes ever comparing him to Downing & Pennant ffs.

I think he’s got the ability and desire to get to the top, he’ll leave Newcastle in a heartbeat to join us, he’s already expressed he wants to play against the best, alluding to not just the Premier League but the Champions League as well.

I honestly think he would be an excellent signing, he can play anywhere across the front 3 as well, was good even as a false 9 when Isak was out injured.

His added strength is his ability to be a false footballer too!

Of all the positions on the pitch bar right back, where Gordon plays would be the least of my concerns. Even if Diaz left I don't think there's a need for Gordon. Gakpo would probably end up with similar goal involvements over a season. I get his pressing is very good but when we need a midfielder who can actually control a game, a left back with Robbo and probably a centre back, Gordon would be way down the list. That's before you come on to his diving.

In what way?

He was not averse to a little bit of gamesmanship or as they say in South America and I loved him for it. But here’s the thing if he was playing for another team I would not have felt the same.

That’s absolute nonsense.

I haven't seen enough of him to know exactly how good he is. He does spend a lot of time on the floor and is English, therefore will obviously have a premium attached for that. Is he good enough that when his pace goes his all round game can compensate?

Nothing against him really he is just an average player in my opinion . However as usual we are back looking at a player who played well against us or someone we had bother with it's a recurring theme . In terms of wingers let's see Downing and Pennant both come to mind .  Leave it there .

He is way better than either of those two.

Jota's was awful the other night, but he plays for us so it's fine. Szobozslai is bad for it too. It'd be the same with Gordon. We'd all make excuses or do mental gymnastics when it comes to our players, like we always do. Acting like we're above it is preposterous.

Nobody is whiter than white these days, everybody knows that. Gordon though, is a different level altogether.

To compare Gordon to Jermaine fuckin Pennant is so ridiculous it must be some kind of sick joke.

Pennant scored 14 Premier League goals combined throughout his career at his six different clubs, if we add his games in the FA and League Cups he adds another goal to his total to 15 goals.

Gordon has scored 15 PL goals combined the last two seasons for Everton and Newcastle alone.

It's like when people liked to think we had a "don't buy any cunts" policy under Klopp. It’s nonsense.

What that actually means is we look for players who are great professionals, not that we don't buy players who are dickheads.

And if we are honest Gerrard knew how to persuade a referee from time to time.

He's THE WORST IN THE WHOLE LEAGUE for it. Has been since he came through.

Any reference to any of our current players I'd a false equivalence.

Compare Jota with Guimaraes or Joelington, fine. But Gordon is a cheat. The rest of them just cheat occassionally like all of them do. There's a difference.

I should say, it's fine for people to say they don't care that he's a massive cheat and they're happy to look past it.

But stop comparing him to players that aren't close to his league.

Honestly, I can't think of a current player in the league who runs him close. Harvey Barnes maybe.

I don't care about the diving he might be under instruction or managed by someone who would accept it happening.

At Everton they were terrible positions that they needed anything they could get and we have all seen the shithousery Eddie and sunbed knob would let ride at Newcastle.

He's really not. It's Bruno Fernandes by a considerable distance and then a sliding scale that Gordon's high on the upper end of along with the likes of Maddison, Grealish and Havertz. Loads of people would say Salah, which, as we watch him constantly, is obviously bollocks.

And, to your other question, I couldn't give a shit whether he dives too much. I'm sick of us being a soft touch when everyone else uses every trick in the book. It's cost us titles.

I think fans genuinely don't know how ridiculous they sound with the he's a cheat stuff, as if they didn't use to worship Suarez.

Some of our fans ability to pretend that Suarez wasn’t a horrible little cunt is frankly embarrassing. He was a horrible little cunt and we loved him for it, even after he tried to join the most average Arsenal side ever ffs.
