Some of our fans ability to pretend that Suarez wasn’t a horrible little cunt is frankly embarrassing. He was a horrible little cunt and we loved him for it, even after he tried to join the most average Arsenal side ever ffs.

That made me like him even more.

Nah.

Qansah had 15 games in League One for Bristol Rovers as his only first team action before last season, he got his chance at the start of last season because of a combination of injuries and red cards.

He was the promising youngster that was seen as solid enough to cover as 5th choice CB behind Van Dijk, Matip, Konate and Gomez.

We still have Van Dijk, Konate, Quansah and Gomez and also Van Berg and other youngsters at the moment.

Van den berg won't be playing here next season. It's just a question of how much we can get.

So we have an ageing vvd, konate who's never proven he can stay fit and his game is still the same as when he joined maybe even regressed, Gomez who hasn't played centre back for years and still can't head a ball and quansah, who's done great - but young players have ups and down. Personally I think we have 1 legitimate centre back. 1 prospect. And 2 irrelevant players who are further from showing they are Liverpool centre backs than this time last year.

Jota's was awful the other night, but he plays for us so it's fine. Szobozslai is bad for it too. It'd be the same with Gordon. We'd all make excuses or do mental gymnastics when it comes to our players, like we always do. Acting like we're above it is preposterous.

Stevie Gerrard - big and hard etc.  One of Liverpool's all time greats etc.

His dive against Athletico to earn a last minute pen was absolutely comical.  The Kop were singing "The referee's a scouser."

I hated him from that moment on.  I booed his every touch, ripped his card out of my kids' sticker books, and wrote to my local MP.

This is the one I always think of when people say our players don't dive.

I think we need to plan for a life without Virgil, or at least him playing a lot less. Buying a top centre half, or at least one with a massive ceiling like Braithwaite, or Yoro (never seen him play)  makes sense this summer imo. We have lost a top class cb from the squad in Big Bird (I know I know he was injured a lot) and we have Virgil who is still very good but is likely to start picking up more injuries and is less likely to be the dominant defender he once was, plus Gomez who has a poor injury record. We really need another cb of quality in there.

Don’t think we will need to replace Van Dijk soon. He’s quick at 33, and as a late starter has less miles on the clock than most of his peers. I think he’ll be playing top level footy somewhere at 40 plus, and hopefully with us for a good few more years

I’ve never liked diving, simulation or whatever you want to label it, it’s cheating whether by opposition players or ours, and we have been on the wrong end of more cheating than we’ve benefitted from.

That said it’s a part of the game these days and is almost accepted as a legitimate tactic, especially in European Leagues like Portugal, Spain and Italy where it’s almost an art.

Of course it goes on here and some of our players do it too.

Doesn’t make it right though.

And it’s Branthwaite not Braithwaite.

I genuinely wish our players cheated more.

We were far too honest under Klopp.

A bit more snide & we may have had another league trophy or two in the cabinet IMO.

This was the point I was trying to make.

The main reason the players get away with simulation or cheating is the poor standards of refereeing. It appears most have never played the game based on how they 'miss' so much. Of course the other reason could be out and out bribery and corruption, but plucky English referees would never do that!

That’s from the time he won the annual Dutch hash cake eating contest and he created the Brucie Bogtrotter celebration.

Swapping Salah for Gordon does make a lot of sense. Salah is on the wane and may end up leaving for nothing next year anyway.

Essentially we'd be replacing him with no financial loss.

But yeah, I'm not sure Salah would want to go there and it'd be pretty disrespectful to him, given his status at the club and achievements.

In other news, Elite has divorced Jenna Coleman and shacked up with Suella Braverman. It makes a lot of sense.

I have literally never heard a Liverpool fan say that he wasn't.
