Referees really are the worst. How can a goal go in at 7.20 of minimum 8 mins of stoppage time, and the ref blow up immediately when the game restarts after Italy’s celebrations?

I've watched him in all 3 games and there looks to be huge promise there IMO  He looks to have every attribute you would want in a defender.  Only needs more experience to get better and better.  He looks a real prospect.  I also really like Scalvini but sadly he's just suffered a bad knee injury.

I feel bad for Croatia really, the amount of luck Italy had there getting a goal with virtually the last kick of the game too. Croatia were one of my main bets with decent odds (40/1 i think) but I've started liking Italy so was conflicted watching as it went on.

I think in order for Croatia to progress now, they need England to batter Slovenia, Denmark to beat Serbia, Portugal to beat Georgia, and Turkey to beat the Czechs.

Calafiori looks like a quality player in the making. Italy in defence and midfield are very good on the ball, but their attackers have been a real letdown. This is a country that had so many top quality options in the 90s in particular that the ones who missed out could be considered very unlucky. Spalletti has been setting them up pretty cautiously in the Italian tradition but that is not his game. That said, the equaliser was an outstanding finish.

 

Croatia have thrown victory away 2 games running now, and they look like a team that has relied on some players for so long that they don't have replacements who are ready.

Agree. Consistently failing to get the basic things right means they can’t be taken seriously. That said this ref, and all the other foreign refs in the Euros, have been miles better than the PL refs.
