Croatia are dreadful. They need a complete overhaul before the 2026 WC.

& that's a brilliant save from Livakovic.

They've been losing players every year for a while from the great side of a few years back and the other players are just too old now. Don't seem to have a new generation of players.

Why’s our man Chiesa, not playing.

Bigo mistako, if you ask me.

I'm wondering if they saw how effective Albania were on the break against Croatia and they're planning to bring Chiesa and Scamacca on later once Croatia have tired a bit. Seems like it could be worth a go if that's what they're doing.

Remember when you used to look at Italys abundance of strikers in the 90/00s?

Now I'm having to look up who they are

Its a huge problem, a look at the 50 top goalscorers in Serie A last season, illustrates it perfectly.

Only two Italians in the top 20, with Scamacca leadng the way with only 12 goals.

A perfectly logical conclusion.

I was thinking that. Definitely a dry spell for them. Still won a tournament despite this.

They had Immobile, Insigne and Berardi then, who had scored 20, 19 and 17 goals in Serie A that season.

And Chiellini and Bonucci at the back.
