Pollard yet again lying the fat sweaty sleazy ugly libellous shitbag cunt.

Man still can’t find a girlfriend so he has to direct all that pent up sexual energy somewhere else.

I wasn't bothered about the politics or the banning of the Israeli contestant (or should that read Russian contestant) but for weeks it's been rammed down people's throat it's just a song contest, a bit of fun, keep politics our of it etc but as soon as the voting opened the same people blanket bombed everyone with propaganda for the Israeli singer. The UK entrant they were adamant should perform was quietly forgotten about.

Heres a renowned British journalist. Admits he's never watched the show. Many more like him.

I don't get why anybody would want to watch that shite.

It’s fun for kids and it means they get to stay up until midnight.

Not sure my youngest will want to bother next year so that might have been my last one until the grandkids.

The likeliest explanation is that anyone who wanted to protest against Israel boycotted the vote altogether; of those who did vote, Israel would have got a sympathy vote from the "keep politics out of entertainment" crowd, on top of those who just liked the song.

In an era where national elections and referendums are manipulated by foreign powers, the likelihood of a highly politicized tele-vote being above board approaches zero.

The UK should learn a lesson having received no points from the public. Actually thought the song was in the top few, Olly can sing and perform. However, they went the full gay with the choreography. You don't go the full gay at Eurovision you keep it queer, mildy homoerotic, playful and fun. Lots of European countries still have strong and fundamentally Christian/Catholic  views on homosexuality and were never going to spend their 15p on us.

The winner wore a skirt and eye diamontes, that's the level you need to aim for to get those public votes rolling in.

The saddest thing about this year was the absence of Hannah Waddingham though. She should just be on screen at all times, and when she isn't on screen everyone should be asking, "Where's Hannah?"

It's a sorry fucking day when you can't enjoy Malin Ackerman Paulie.

Israel did very well in the public votes across Europe despite the protests, Twitter calls for boycott etc. Maybe social media is not reflective of popular opinion after all.

I think Israel had a bit of a push tbh, incidentally mainly on Twitter. Plus a lot of the anti Israel vote boycotted the comp so didn't vote at all.

You’re suggesting more across Europe support genocide than is being made out?

Reading some of the stuff on here about it I'm not sure some of it was appropriate for kids to watch.

Willard mentioned simulated anal sex in a set based on a public toilet.

Hardly entertainment for children.

Fair point.

One thing we can rule out is that the vote reflects some sort of groundswell of support for Israel (which has, presumably, materialised in the ten days since pro-Palestinian candidates did so well in the local elections).

Good point. Simulated anal sex in a set based on a public toilet  was never going to get many votes from eastern or southern European countries.

Also, Britain should start taking Eurovision seriously; it is, after all, the only available channel for its pop music to reach other countries.

"Which would you like to be the face of the future?". A Goth playing dress-up or someone representing a racist, terrorist that is committing genocide right now?

Yeah, tough choice, Shredded Wheat head.
