Nothing hipsters love more than an alternative idea that never got the attention they felt it deserved in its heyday.

Well, that and looking like a scruff.

The one that pisses me off the most and was only thinking of this listening to a podcast the other day, is this "low block", "high block" nonsense. You mean sit deep or defend from the front?

High block is nothing new either.  Or pressing. Ian Rush was doing it well back. He’d press like Andy Robbo in that famous Man City clip in the CL. Accept he’d be doing it against Stoke in the Rumbelows cup.

And as a genuine scruff I feel hipsters are misappropriating my culture.

Its seems the managers we are strongest linked with all play a far slower more possession based game than Klopp. Lots of little triangles, structured possession. We have a few that it might suit but we can't lose that pace and power we attack with when we are at our best. Really don't think it would suit the likes of Szobzslai and Darwin especially.

Do you really think we press higher and with more intensity than say city or even Arsenal?

I have to be honest, I don't think we do. So I can't see any real problem for any new manager that comes in.

Generally any decent manager plays a high pressing game, obviously some are more intense than others, but the best teams all play very similarly to each other, in my opinion

I don't just mean pressing, more the way we attack, quite direct at times and it suits us. Turning us into a city type possession based, slower attack might not work. But as its been said, any decent coach should be able to work this out, you get some coaches that are stuck in one style

I was going for an Amarillo angle...

The way we play for Amorin tho,

Better than winning the transfer window

  Dreaming dreams of Amorin tho,

  And the something something something.

I'll see myself out.

Hughes is on gardening leave isn't he? I'm sure if he asks Bournemouth can he interview people, they won't say no.

I read somewhere that he's still working for them but they've said they've got no problem with him also doing what he need to do for us in terms of finding the new manager etc.

You don't get that very often, but it would speak a lot to how much trust they have in his integrity.

I blame Rodgers for that. He was the first one I remember going on about "low block".

I think they are probably happy for him to do bits for both clubs because

A) it shows future DOF for them that they will allow them to move on and not keep them from progressin

2) We clearly won't be looking at the same players or staff

It does. I guess as well from a loan situation etc, maintaining a good relationship with us is no bad thing.

On the flip side, there's several people commented on how little he trusts youth and pretty much ignores their academy. To the extent of naming a full bench of defenders during an attacking injury crisis and not one attacking academy player.

Not questioning you, all those videos on page 1 praise his youth development?

If we are going to 3-4-3, I could see us going for Lloyd Kelly from Bournemouth on a free.

Is Chambers a centre back? Looking at Transfer Market, it says he is, I think I’ve only ever seen him for us as a left back.

Didn't we play a 3-4-3 when Roy Evans had the gig?

The man was ahead of his time........

I'm quite annoyed at any fucker giving Arteta plaudits for his ultimate low block shit. For me if you are the best you prove you're the best. If you play a certain brand/style of football you back it. None of this how clever he is, he was a coward.

Rodgers dabbled in it. Probably thinks he invented it.

I thought he exactly played his style. His style is to remove as much risk from a game as possible. Same as his boring, baldy prick of a mate he was playing against. Yesterday was the most predictable 0-0 going. Luckily for me I put a tenner on it.
