We need a nice early goal to settle ourselves.

Kel and the defence will be okay. The midfield is a bit worrying if we were playing City but it will be okay for this imo. Attack should still have enough quality to get us over the line.

If we were two up, I'd rest a few for the last 30 mins.

It seems to me that we'll be in some bother for the City game, but that aside from that, our run in the league is relatively kind, so there are worse times for us to have an injury crisis. There will be an impact at the end of the season - think the Blueshite game (presuming one or both of us get through in the FA Cup and it gets rescheduled) could fall between two away games.

Btw, that's not denying that Luton aren't dangerous. That Ogbene lad is a right speed merchant and while I hate the fuckers, they have given a really good account of themselves this season.  Still, this is one, even a half strength Liverpool at home shpuld get over the line.

Separately, great that City haven't ate into the goal difference, although Arsenal are scoring for fun right now. It's so tight it could be a goal difference year.

Looking at the terror in some of these posts, I had to check that I hadn't accidentally opened a match thread against Real Madrid or something.

Luton have won two away games this season: Sheffield United and Everton.  They are absolutely awful and even our depleted squad should be beating them.

You would think it’s Woy’s plucky reds with Joe Cole leading attack against the Galactico’s of Madrid ffs

Yes but they are expecting to be reinstated in the FA Cup, to play the winners of us and Chelsea in the Milk Cup and get 15 of their 10 points back, by the disciplinary panel.

Who is going to play up front tonight with Salah, Nunez, Jota & Doak all injured?

Diaz, Gakpo & Elliott doesn't look quite so intimidating to me & the bench is fucked so I can see why people are approaching this one with some trepidation.

Not to mention to goalkeeper, right back & two midfielders we are missing.

If we have no Salah and no Nunez then a win is not guaranteed even against Luton Town.

Again questions have to be asked of the Club for yet another season, if its not one thing its another. No wonder Jurgen is getting off.

Injuries continue to mount weekly, not enough bodies in the squad, the question marks over the medical team AGAIN and yet we are still in 4 competitions. Too many players out and not enough in. Its shocking that a club of our stature is still having these issues.

Regardless of us being top, given the opposition for the title, our challenge is well and truly over if we cannot beat Luton at home. It’s a game we should be winning regardless of injury problems.

I don't get this fatalistic attitude to every game. Yes, dropping points tonight would be awful but in order for our title challenge to be 'well and truly over', we would have to lose the next three games.
