Pretty much exactly the same thoughts

I do love the thought of him diving a winning a pen for us in a game that sends Everton down.

For 100 million quid. I'd rather we bought the real Claire Balding and confined her to presenting the horse racing.

We need some physicality in midfield. We probably need it throughout the team a bit. This leg dangling shit or just jockeying a player until he passes it. We are so half arsed at defending like everybody has the Trents. The system doesn't help.

According to Brighton fans his wife and kids live in Sandbanks near Poole in Dorset.

Two and a half hour with car one way, so its understandable.

I have been crying out for a big massive hard bastard in midfield who can run all over the pitch kicking the shit out of anyone for years. 05/06 Momo Sissoko style.

Ive said in other threads, maybe this one, Tchouameni, Caicedo, Lavia… I’d be amazed if we’re still happy with current #6 options.

We are way to nice or soft as a team. Physically and in fighting for our interests on the pitch. That doesn't mean we should be petulant but there's no voices.

I reckon if we would of bought Rice we'd of looked so much better. An ever present midfielder specifically for one role who is English so gets the referee bias a bit more. Plus he's good, physical and can play. We bought 2 midgets one of whom is a 30 year old who wears a gum shield. Now I like endo he's done a decent job as squad fodder but that's all he is. Mac Allister should be nowhere near the 6 role. Who knows what the future brings with slot but I just hope lessons are learnt quickly.

Fully agree with you mate.

In years gone by we had plenty of players who could physically intimidate the opposition, within the rules of the game of course. Gerrard for one. I still remember Spurs coming to Anfield with Gareth Bale one year when we were shit, Bale and Gerrard in a straight foot race for the same ball, and Gerrard getting there first, not because he was faster, but because Bale shat out of it when he realised who he was up against.

Or like the turning point of last season when we really were shite. It wasn't the inverting full back thing for me. It was when we played Arsenal at home and Xhaka squared up to Trent, so Konate went straight fucking through him next time he could. Clean win of the ball taking all of the man as well. I know it's a cliche on here but you genuinely do need a bit of that.

We don't press well anymore and we've bought a soft midfield. It's easily exposed and we have a right back that wants the RCB to do his work for him leaving us even more exposed.

If we could get 60/80ml for Trent I'd take it. His refusal to do any dirty work and playing inverted has completely fucked up our shape.

Slot most important thing this summer will be drilling these fuckers into a proper shape. We are two disorganised and don't have the fight, energy or power to play with sone sort of high tempo pressing that we did early under Klopp. Pressing teams have a short window and since ours run out we have been massively flawed

I don’t think playing inverted is necessarily a bad thing. In theory Klopp (and Trent) should be able to vary coming inside or going outside depending on opposition, circumstance, and it should give us more flexible ways of attacking.

Problem is Trent has largely given up playing any sort of defence wherever he plays, and Mo doesn’t have the legs to work as hard any more. So that side of the pitch is bollocksed.

Given we need another rebuild, the funds will have to come from somewhere.....and they sure as hell aint coming from John's pocket.

So outgoings - Kelleher, Diaz, Salah, Jones, plus the wages saved on Adrian/Matip/Thiago. Don't think 7 leaving is unreasonable given 3 are out of contract anyway. A chunky 200m

Incomings - Geertruida/Frimpong, Wieffer, Bakayoko, Todibo, Malen

4-5 new players is what we should be striving for, I'd be happy with the above.

If we pulled our fingers out our arses and had a pro active mindset instead of a reactive one for once, none of that should be difficult to manage in 3 whole months.

All the planning for the summer should already be done, targets lined up etc then get straight down to business with agent/player negotiations.

This is what happens when you fail to do bits every summer to refresh the group, all boils down to 1 summer to get everything right.
