Seems a strange 1, rejected them last summer to sign for Villa, wasn't exactly short of game time and now he's off in a flash. Wonder what's gone on there.

Heard this morning 25 million pound a year deal plus bonus for 5 years in wages . They want to make him the poster boy for younger players going to Saudi league.

…probably true, could be that the squad is away until 5th August and lines up with Hughes’ timeline.

I understand the rationale behind waiting until Slot has seen everybody train before making signings etc but I can't help but think this is going to end up with us having a mad scramble to get signings in before the deadline. Surely Slot, Hughes and the rest have a decent idea on what we need?

If they don't know what we need it makes a mockery of this idea that we are always planning multiple transfer windows ahead.

The way things are going, we are going to lose at least two of Trent, Mo and VVD in the next twelve months. It would be madness to allow all three of them to leave on a free next summer!

From being an incredibly well run club, we are now starting to look a bit clueless.

Villa looking to bring in Joao Felix. He’s always unimpressed me but Emery is nobody’s fool and might well get a tune out of him.

Villa could have a very big season if they buy properly. Good squad already and a shrewd manager.

Surprised at Fulham.

It’s also misleading when Newcastle, City and Arsenal have only signed players they had on loan last season or on deal that had been agreed last season.

Personally, I’ve not been concerned at anybody else’s signings so far. Unfortunately the mancs have likely made the best signing so far.

The bigger concern for me is not just the lack of signings but not sorting out the contracts of our main players. If the likes of Virgil and Trent don't sign extensions it will say a lot about the ambition of the club.

Yeah, it’s concerning.

Hopefully it’s all down and they all want to sign close to the season to give us a bit of a feel good factor.

It's not like most of the liverpool squad are complete unknowns playing in the Uganda league. They play for the most watched football team in Europe in the most watched league on the planet with every game dissected and over analysed. There's tons of statistics available even for the likes of Carvalho and Tyler Morton who were on loan last year.

It's hilarious that it's emphasized from the start that Slot is a "Head Coach", yet he has to assess the squad before we can sign anyone.

Well you’d hope the recruitment team would listen and take on board the advice and guidance of the guy who’s actually responsible for using the assets that they will go and spend millions on. He doesn’t have to have final say or anything but he’ll probably like to have an input on what they need to buy him.
