This is mad. He's literally taking the ship and the party down with him. He'll be off sunning himself in California before August is finished and there has to be quite the big likelihood that Labour will be facing the SNP or Lib Dems as official opposition when the new Parliament starts.

I didn't think they could find anyone as out of their depth as Truss. But they've found him, and he's basically going through the motions, clearly not arsed.

He’s now contradicting the #10 spokesman.

Its all broken down.

He’s saying he wasn’t scheduled to be there, under normal non election circumstances, meaning he was going to snub the Vets and world leaders anyway. This will get traction as the day unfolds.

The tax stuff had him spooked and he wanted to see it off, but has fucked up so spectacularly that he may as well just walk now.

The press officer this morning, before Sunak spoke, said he was always planning to be there.

Communication, planning, messaging and discipline have completely broken down.

You hate to see it etc etc

I’m loving every minute of it

He's getting grief for not caring about veterans. Does anyone think Truss, Johnson, May or Cameron gave 2 shiny fucks? Maybe May in her more reflective moments. The others, no chance, they care or cared for no one.

The grief Sunak is getting should be for not pretending to care enough, the fact he mentions UK soliders about a million times proves he just doesn't get it. Its not his fault, how can you expect a chap that's never used an ATM to understand anything that isn't numbers?

That fat mess turned up like he slept in a ditch and put the wreath upside down, and there was barely a whisper

Maybe he's trying to do so badpy that he can lose his 27k majority.

It's back to the transactional nature of the beast we talked about the other day. They fucked him so he is going to do the same, there is no greater good malarkey involved.

The real, lasting money/power/fame is outside of politics - many of these folks genuinely believe they are above that mess and doing everyone a favor showing up at all.

That is Trump's shtick. Sunak needs his own shtick.

He popped into my head watching that interview. It would have been a thing of beauty to see someone tell Trump he didn't care for veteran's.

He cares alright.

But overwhelmingly about him and how he is seen - it is why he keeps referencing things he has done whenever questioned - even did it today over this veterans lark.

An absolute narcissist.

Just ones that weren’t captured or killed.

Nah he would have had equal disdain for them all. Schmucks fighting rich people's wars. A bit like Sunak really. You could imagine Rishi writing a letter to excuse his gardener from mandatory military service. The roses won't cut themselves and sure his kid must be nearly 14, send him into battle.

I was referring to his comments about John McCain.

This is going to absolutely stink out the weekend with every fucker with an opinion popping up and culminating in Laura K having to fight fire after fire.

All we need now is for Mordant to disown him on prime time and for Raynor to headbutt Farage and it'll be a lovely weekend, all considered.

It is fine, its just Sharon Graham sticking up for her Union and not being 100% happy with everything, something about timing of when rights kick in.

The other unions are on board and Unite will back Labour but hold their feet to the coals over the finer details, as is right.
