It is a scorched earth policy now - just keep repeating the lies over and over and at best it sticks with morons/those not paying attention and as you say it just gets a "they all lie" reaction.

The thing is though they've been called out like never before this time.

It's the weirdest thing I've ever seen. Although I'm guessing the polls are maybe broader than they have been in any election. I'm praying for a complete wipe out at this point. 12 months ago, I'd have probably still took a minority win.

Oh, it's getting worse, they are now refusing, as are ITV, to confirm if he left today to do the interview.

I assume they're trying to put together some sort of excuse, glorious.

I'd love to see what they come up with and then when they pretend he was there, explain how he missed the photo shoot.

If I am reading the original release correctly the interview isn't even airing untill next Wednesday.

Bizarre and entirely self inflicted.

Have you (or anyone!) used this electoral calculus website, is it reliable? I came across it before. It's predicting a 320 majority for labour. The Tories down to 60-odd seats. Strangely it has reform on zero, I'd have thought Lee Anderson or farage would be in with a shout..

It's pretty good. The forecast is an amalgamation of current polls, although they also do their own polling- I've linked the last one they did, it showed a Tory meltdown similar to the forecast, and was backed up by their equivalent 2019 poll being pretty much spot on, in the second link. They also do seat by seat forecasts using some fancy MRP polling, although at that level, the margin of error must be fairly high.

I suspect Reform are spread too thinly across the country to take seats in the way the Lib Dems would on a similar percentage.

You use quotes from twitter to argue that Labour are evil bastards etc. He's doing the same to show the opposing argument. You're proving his point.

I'm not sure you are understanding what Streeting means there. Nothing about twitter.  Labour are not scrapping the two child limit.

It doesn't mean they won't ever do so though? He's literally agreeing with what he's saying?

He's not agreeing with what he's saying at all, he's only saying that he has a right, as  Archbishop of Canterbury to say it.

Wes Streeting told Trevor Phillips he voted against the two-child limit when it was introduced, "so by definition, I wish it wasn't there".

He followed that by saying he's not going to remove it.

The context surrounding Arnies link was the Archbishop of Canterbury was at that time getting criticism for interfering in political matters. Streeting was defending his right fo speak out on matters of morality.

Labour have no plans to end the two child limit.

I've just watched QT on the iPlayer. While Mark Harper was awful as expected, I thought Mahmood for labour was pretty shocking too. She seemed to be there completely unprepared and it was almost like every single Welsh question took her by surprise. What did she think she was going to get on a border QT and what has happened in Wales this week?

Todays Tory wheeze?

Raising child benefit for thresholds to include households with a combined income of £120,000.

That’ll move the dial!

Who the fuck is doing the advising here?

I am, at this point, convinced that they don't actually want to win. They know that the economy is fucked and we are servicing record levels of debt - debt that they've accumulated despite 'austerity'. They'll fuck off as they always do, leaving Labour with the mess - but they're trying to drag the narrative to the right as they go. It'll be a slow process, but there's not a lot Labour can do in the short term. I'll be happy if all they do over the next five years is ensure that there's never a majority Tory government ever again.
