Being boring - a lot of these could be explained by the prem starting to offer massive wages to ageing or past their best players. Obviously with a few exceptions. A bit like saudi now.

aside from wages I really do wonder what the fuck was going on at boro. They had the likes of the ones I mentioned but also ziege, Juninho, viduka, hasselbaink, festa etc playing with the likes of Craig hignett and Robbie mustoe.

ah no, he was an excellent player, but he was only playing for Coventry, and Inter where a huge team, Ronaldo was there at the time to if im not mistaken.
