8 goals in 50 games ( suspect that includes sub appearances and games where he has been subbed?) is not a bad return for a midfielder in our set up. I don't think he's anywhere near as bad as people are saying here.

I like him, but people are correct in their identification of his weaknesses. He can run, and he has a good shot and cross on him.
But short passing and creative passing are not his forte.

It does, 5 assists on top of that.

35 starts and 15 as a sub.

Another mixed game from Szobo, game of two halves essentially. Seems to be saving his main output (on the ball at least) for second halves.

He's an unorthodox attacking/wide attacking player.....he's not your typical silky, smooth creative spark in the mould of Odegaard/Maddison/Eze etc and relies more on working in open spaces.

As Arne had pointed out, it's more the 3 goals, 4 assists in 37 league games which needs to be worked on. Macca did better playing deeper. A player of his ability, a so called creative player, needs to be at least doubling that tally.

Yeah he is shite in tight spaces or when closely marked. Bit of an issue for number ten, that.

I reckon he'd make an amazing wingback in a 3-4-3.

When you're operating on the edge of the area in the main and teams are sat back you will probably end up looking less effective. I think the width of the forward line and ability to turn the defence are bigger issues, we seem to always want to keep the play in front of defences.

Overrated, for me. Just as Can's was.

He needs to shave his head and start kicking people if he isn't going to score any goals.

Can had beautiful hair. McDermott-esque in both bounce and volume. You nonce, code, Tony’s Ma denier, etc
