No fucker was in here last month saying that we needed to buy two attacking midfielders to fix our problems.

Nobody.

The whole forum has spent since last summer talking about the need for a midfield rebuild.

Saw him doing that "shwing" goal celebration thing on one of those Youtube videos.  I'm out.

Does nobody at the club ever do due diligence.

* I know it's called something other than "shwing", and I know looking it up would be quicker than typing out this, but such is my stubborn contempt, I choose not to.

I understand he's more than likely not going to come in and start ruling the roost as far as leadership goes being 22 and brand new in the side, but isn't Szobozslai meant to be a rather vocal player and big on the leadership despite his age? I know he captains his national side but since Hungary haven't been worth a shit since the middle of last century that could just be a case of him being far and away their best player, still I'm fairly certain more than one of those videos or write ups earlier in the thread mentioned how he's always communicating with others on the pitch.

It's also possible that someone else steps in that regard, after all they get paid to play too. Before last season I think most would've seen Virg as the heir apparent to Hendo as far as the captaincy goes, but if we want it to be a player further up the pitch when we attack then maybe Trent has it in him. Either way I don't think it's a good reason to be disillusioned with this signing.

Even with this terrible contrarian shtick you've got going on, surely you know that the right sided player in our midfield is already by all intents and purposes an attacking midfielder and all we're doing is signing a player who is suited to playing that role. If not, I'd conclude you haven't watched us in years. And then that Mac Allister is not at all just an attacking midfielder.

Yes but we're just sheeple, unable to see that the single only player able to save us is a 19 year old midfielder from Bristol City. And yes, to the untrained eye that 19 year old midfielder from Bristol City may appear no less attacking than the two midfielders it looks like we're signing, but that's just because we're not smart enough to see the truth. Question everything, people.

I don’t know that much, I do know he is captain of Hungary. Apparently his efforts to get them to Euro’20 was Gerrard-esq.

I’d be happy if he came in and ruffled a few feathers. I think too many of our more established players have become comfortable.

Signed some Hungarian kid that most of us haven’t seen play much, or watched games we’ve not noticed him in, and some people’s first instinct (not just here, seen it on The Athletic, Twitter, etc) is to call him a young Kevin De Bruyne.

No pressure, lad.
