The fact he is a right back and where someone wants to rank him with other right backs is kind of irrelevant. We could replace him with Bradley there very easily because he is already a very good right back.

The thing that would be difficult to replace is the passing ability and therefore the chances he creates. But then people said the same thing when Coutinho left.

They might have said the same thing when Coutinho left but Trent is in a different league altogether to Coutinho when it comes to creating chances.

If Trent is willing to put a shift in as a RB as he did this weekend then you happily give him a long term 6/7 year deal. If he isn't then you have to find a solution or move on.

But losing him on a free will be absolute stupidity from the club and they'll have nobody to blame but themselves with how late they've left these 3 without deals. Should have been done a year ago with Trent and the other 2 extended or in Mo case replaced this summer.

Still think we should be looking at  a RW now to understudy Mo

And yet people on this forum will say they are not arsed if he leaves. Nutters. Kids world class and it's a huge blow if we lose him.

But but Connar Bradley can defend better. Well yeah maybe. But there's like 2 or 3 players in the world that can do what he can with the ball. We'll find that out very quickly if he leaves next year.

Better players than Trent have come and gone from this club, but they were usually replaced with somebody of equal or better ability. Nowadays we are not even sure they'll be replaced,no matter the standard of replacement.

Deffo looks like he's gone into a sulk then, can't see him staying. Silly really as he looks like he fits this system perfectly and he's ain't getting into that Madrid midfield

I've never known a situation with a player where what you're told is so divorced from what you actually see.

When he's good he's good, but those games have been getting fewer and further between for literally years.

When he can't be arsed he's a disgrace to watch, Stephen Hawking could walk past him and put a cross in.

His set pieces are largely shit  - yet punditry tells you he's among the best "oooh Trent's stood over the ball" "oooh it's just flown past Voyager 2".

Best passer in the world, Madrid-bound and so forth.

What I see myself is wasted potential and a lad that peaked with that corner against Barcelona.

It's lunacy to have let his contract expire though, we should have sold him last year, if he stays then he needs to lose the miserable puss and start giving a fuck.

We're in fucking trouble without him, I know that. I'll probably moan about it elsewhere, but the two number 6's do not like getting the ball facing their own goal, they're both fine once the ball is up the pitch and they're facing play and the opposition goal. The main way we built play today was Trent just fucking them off, bypassing midfield and hitting the forwards.

Thought he was fantastic today.

This

His defensive work rate was much better, sprintng back to get back into position on counters.

With the amount of games this year that are possible he should realise that losing 20 mins here or there in games will leave him far fresher for the back end of the season and maybe we won't be looking absoloutley on our last legs the last month or two of the season

Gravenberch doesn't look to bad taking the ball off the CBs imo, looks more than capable of taking it on the half turn and starting attacks. Still work to do but he's made a decent start

I have to disagree. I thought he spent most of the time when the defenders had the ball today finding somewhere to be that nobody would pass to him. And when he did offer, he was very square on, so they wouldn't pass to him. I thought he was fine the other way, him and Macca were shocking imo when we were trying to build out. If slot wants to play through the 6s, I think we're in for a hard season against anyone who's happy to press, because they (or konate because of the way they offer) will be the victims. We've luckily played 2 teams who'll finish in the bottom 8 and we've struggled to play through both of them and only really found success by going long.

He was great today again.  Seems like Slot has put a rocket up his arse in terms of his defending.  I haven’t seen the sulk he threw out but it’s an easy answer for Slot and the club.  What do you expect them to do?  Play you 90 mins every week and let Bradley go stale and then you walk out for free at the end of the season?  The one bit of leverage the club has over him is game time.

It’s early doors but the team looks back to it best.  Slot has sorted out the Klopp blind spots.  The players are all sprinting back.  We are getting Salah on the ball wide in one on one situations again.  We completely killed the game at 2-0.  We are creating so many more chances whilst also having more control.  It’s a short sample size but it looks good.

He may not have done it all the time (receive/turn) but he had the most touches on the field so he couldn't have been hiding all the time either.

It certainly is something he has shown he can do throughout his time here.

I can understand a bit of a sulk to being pulled, but what the fuck was that at the end, walking on the pitch like his dog had been shot. He wouldn’t even have a laugh with Jota. And all of this after the fans had been singing his name in support. Fucking grow up.

He had loads of touches just kicking it back to where it came from, I'm talking about building play. I noticed you cut out the bit where I said he played just fine when the game was in front of him. The opposition the last 2 weeks have been pretty poor. Personally I don't think what I've seen from Macca and gravenberch in that 6 position so far, we look at all equipped to build play through them.

Stuff like today happens to driven players, but if he has good people around him they’ll let him know that he was acting like a bellend and to cut it out.

Harsh to judge someone by the company they keep, but Jude Bellingham consistently displays an even greater sense of entitlement so the next while should be interesting.

He's been excellent this season and much improved on the defensive side.

But he needs a smack for his petulant, bratty behaviour after he came off today. Does he need reminding that he's the vice-captain and should be leading by example?

Great player, hope he stays long term. But the idea that we'd be fucked without him is false. Conor Bradley is also brilliant.
