I'll be amazed if we don't play with a double 6 with everything we've seen up to now. In fact I'd bet my life on that's how we're going to play. For me, only time will tell how we make that work with Trent if we're going to continue to invert.

I don't think Slot will have the right back tucking in as he seems to have liked the build up through the middle with quick passes and his full backs pushing up. We might see him pick up the ball further up the pitch but not tucked so much inside.

I think it will be a lot more fluid than just a double 6. Your original point is valid about there being no space for him to operate if we play with 2.

We won't have two sitting next to each other, he seems to like his central players to be staggered so quick one twos can be played to break the lines. Soccer.

I still think Trent will be inside a lot. That position and ball for Jota today is a brilliant weapon for us. Of all the players you try to work space for, it's still by a mile Trent who you want on the ball.

Slot nearly threw a tantrum the first time I saw him interviewed and the reporter stated that we would be playing with 2 6s. He stressed that his preferred formation was 4-3-3 (not 4-2-3-1). It sure looks like we are playing with 2 more defensive midfielders than in the Klopp days, but it might be a thing we're trying to develop (or even change from game to game).

But that wasn't build up play, it was just the breakdown of a set piece and Trent as one of the defending players picked up on it and passed/crossed to Jota.

That's why I said position but it applies to build up play also. If you move the ball through the pitch you'd like to work the ball there for Trent to deliver to either Jota or Nunez. He's so accurate and hits it first time so quickly that either of those 2, who both have great movement and decent in the air, should get double figures just from that pass alone.

He's a great crosser and passer of the ball, one of the best in the game. But I don't think the aim seemed to be to get him in those positions today. From all I've seen in American preseason and you add in today, we want to play through the middle of the pitch.

I understand and I'm not going to lie, I have no idea what is going to be the game plan with Trent and Slot. I do know he'll be a massive part of his plans though.

I'm not saying he shouldn't be part of the plans. I just don't really see how we're going to get the best of him inside when there is already 2 sixes there. It was his first game, he's only been back a few days and it was killer temperatures, so maybe Trent was not supposed to be so deep and more time and it imoroves. But I have to say it bothered me what I saw today. It looked a real struggle for both him and gravenberch and it left Salah quite isolated at times.

Who is actually going to buy him in this window?

Nobody

If we tried to sell him he would refuse a move except to probably Madrid who would offer us 20ml as they can secure him for nothing in January. They've likely already told his agent what they'll offer him in Jan if he sits out the year. They'll be doing the same with Davies at Bayern. Honestly I reckon both those deals are about done behind the scenes if they want them. He's goy us over a barrel and will demand big big money

Courtois

Trent Rudiger Militao Davies

Valverdre Bellingham Camivinga

Rodrigyo Mbappe Vini

The whole team will have cost them about €300m. Crafty bastards will have gone from a slow, old team to young and fast and done it all with whispers and emojis. Recycled the stadium while they were at it. For good measure their biggest rivals are crumbling. They really are the ultimate smelling of roses cunts.

Leaving your boyhood club on a free is a cunt’s trick.

Why? Trent is supposed to sacrifice what he gains from his career to line the pockets of some Bostonian billionaires? We're not a community club, we are a vehicle to make billionaires richer. The club offered him a very well paid contract, which he signed and is honouring (clue in the word honouring). If Trent had a career ending injury today, do you think the club would offer him a new deal?

A cunts trick would be going on strike to get a move. He's not doing anything of the sort. He's working through his contract and our club owners and executives are unable to convince him his future is here and sign another one.
