Made up we got him  (as a youngster rated alongside Bellingham ) was disappointed in his performances last year it has to be said . However even last year and obviously this year it is apparent his first passing or body motion thought is to get the ball forward . That takes so much pressure of our defence and creates doubt in the opposition midfield .  A breath of fresh air for fans that's why he being slightly over hyped  at minute .  Think we need to be cautious but enjoying the football his influence generates.

Was he good again?

Yeah. Maybe not as active as some of the other games.

He’s just completely comfortable receiving the ball with someone on him, and then just turning away from them. It’s great.

From 5 years ago in the Guardian up and coming section.

“He’s a strange guy, my son,” Ryan Gravenberch Sr once told Ajaxshowtime.nl. It turns out that Ryan Gravenberch Jr was not the fastest to appear in the morning, spending roughly an hour in the bathroom and quite a lot of time on his phone. Eventually his father ended that and gave his son phone restrictions to get him off the sofa. His talent has never been in question but his ability to focus has. There is many a story about how his attention has wandered, from seeing his brother eating chips on the sidelines and pleading with his mother to have some, to wanting a clean pair of white shorts after the ones he had on got muddy. But his family and Ajax keep pushing him in the right direction and getting the best out of him. Gravenberch became the youngest debutant in Ajax history, beating Clarence Seedorf’s 27-year-old record in September 2018. Has been used sparingly by the first team since. A versatile midfielder with an impressive technique and an excellent range of passing, he is looking to be a young version of Zinedine Zidane. His biggest aim? “To join Barcelona. But no rush, I’m relaxed. I am happy at Ajax.”

He won't get away with those fantastic turns against the top teams , it took Atalanta about 5 mins to stimy Leverkusen in the Europa league final. Great to see so far , but we'll need a varied approach in the next month or so I reckon.

You'd have thought someone younger than 27 would have played for Ajax before Grav did.

Also Seedorf looks great for a fella his age.

Whenever I close my eyes at night, I imagine us together at Stanley park spraying crossfield passes to each other.

I love him very very much and I'm sure he loves me too.

He says you’re a great guy but isn’t really looking for anything like that right now. Says he has a lot on.
