The 1951 Alastair Sim film is my favourite by some distance, though I do like the George C. Scott version.

Ive been off work ill this week and have watched the above version plus at least 3 different very old school cartoon versions that have been ace

Alastair Sim is the definitive version. Peerless.

 

Honourable mention to Scrooged and Jim Carrey. I could never really take to Michael Caine as Scrooge; he's the least believable one in that film.

Muppets one. Can't help but think its how Dickens ultimately envisaged his tale to be told. With a grateful prayer and a thankful heart.

There's a new musical animation on Netflix which is really good as well.
