Really? I always remember Sterling coming on for his academy debut and flicking the ball over some kids head (in the mini derby?), was just obvious he was so far ahead of his peers.

Haven't seen anything of Doak apart from a couple of highlights, but it's even clearer than that? Awesome.

Yeah Sterling was brilliant. Not Michael Owen level of brilliant, but he was clearly going to make it. What I've seen of Doak (three or four full games and plenty of highlights) I'd day he's even better than Sterling at the same age.

Jordon Ibe was really fucking good too though, so like I say it doesn't always mean much.

Doak is quite similar in style to Ibe actually.

Jordan Ibe was built like John Barnes from about 15 wasn’t he? Surely his main advantage over his peers was all physical. Doak has a growth spurt and Klopp’s special inhalers to go through yet, looks to have a very high ceiling.

Ibe had the touch and the finish to back up the physical ability, mentally he couldn't take the step up though. Doak still has to overcome that. With Klopp around he has a much better chance to overcome any struggles though.

I was speaking to a Celtic fan when I was up near Glasgow a few weeks back. We got talking football, as you do, and I mentioned Ben Doak to him. He reckons he’s the best prospect to come through the ranks at Celtic in decades.

I’m trying not to get too excited though. I thought Robbie Foy was going to be the business.

A very good friend of mine from Glasgow who's a Celtic ST holder and been going to senior and under age games for well over 40 years said he's the best young talent he's ever seen. He's still raging we got him.

The public attention on kids like Ben and how he deals with that is another challenge for emerging talents these days. Clips from youth and reserve games will be viewed millions of times when you're at a club like Liverpool.  Glare of publicity from a ridiculously early age.

Watched him a lot this season and he is fearless, Frauendorf looked scared to try anything. Fingers crossed for Oaky.

The main criticisms of Elliott are he is too lightweight and not quick enough - only seen his cameo the other day and that Napoli vid (Napoli looked atrocious) but he seems similar. Does he have the pace to eventually play wide left in our system?

Pace cannot be questioned I think, he is strong too, think he is made for the right.
