O, so it's basically Jota and Alisson, plus Trent will be a couple of weeks longer. We don't know about Jones. The rest of the season's regulars are available or coming back within a week or so.

I'd say Jota for the season at this point. Ali not till after the international break. He's pretty much cagey about the rest. Who knows?

I feel we’ll miss Jota more than anyone, as we do struggle when teams sit deep against us, and often he’s the one who makes things happen in those situations.  Slightly less concerned about Alisson because, hyperbole aside, Kelleher is a very good goalie, though clearly it’s not ideal.  Jones has turned into an important player for us, so he will be missed, perhaps one of the youngsters or Gravenberch in with Mac and Endo as we know Elliot’s not much good when he starts games - though he may get the nod if Salah’s not fit or ready.  We may even have to blood Gordon if Nunez is unable to make it - at least on the bench.

Jota more than Dom or even Jones? Reading between the lines which is all you can do but it seems Salah and Darwin are okish. I'm definitely hopeful for Sunday. Midfield is awful. Gravenberch is going to have to put up a fucking much better showing than he did at Arsenal or Chelsea's midfield is going to swamp us.

Based on what?

Klopp said this:

Klopp added: "With Diogo it will obviously rather take months (not weeks)"

Watch the full video , Klopp also says ‘about a month’ during the full interview, i’m trying to grasp at straws here !!

Yes, I think Jota is more important to us than either Dom and Jones.  And that's no disrespect to either of them, and I hope they're going to be back into our starting 11 quickly.

Jürgen Klopp has provided a further update on the injuries Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota suffered at Brentford on the weekend.

The pair were forced off in the first half of Liverpool's 4-1 win at Gtech Community Stadium and have been ruled out of Wednesday night's meeting with Luton Town.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker and Dominik Szoboszlai will also remain sidelined for the Anfield fixture with Rob Edwards' side in the Premier League.

Speaking about the injury situation during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Klopp said: "Not great, definitely not. I would like to sit here and say we have absolutely no issues but obviously we have some.

"So, not available is obviously Ali, that's a muscle injury where we don't know exactly how long it takes but definitely not for foreseeable time coming back.

"Then we have Diogo with a knee issue, is ruled out. Curtis, with a bone ligament issue, ruled out.

"And then we have the others where we will deal with it day by day with muscle things. We will see for tomorrow, you see the line-up early enough and then you can see who made it and who didn't make it. That's it pretty much.

"All the little bit longer-term like Trent and Dom, they are on their way back but not in team training yet, so that means they are not available as well. That's the situation, let me say it like that.

"What I said after the game, as long as we have 11 players, we will go for it, and that's exactly the idea. It takes with the boys day by day and with the games definitely game by game.

"Tomorrow night is an incredibly important game for us against a really good side. I'm not sure you will ask about Luton, so that's why I start talking about them because the job Rob is doing there is insane.

"I'm not sure it's really respected enough that a team with the amount of points they had in the beginning of the season making such a footballing development, I'm not sure I saw that before.

"When you saw the Man United game, it was an incredible game of Luton. Yes, they lost it, but it was an incredible game. They increased possession periods during the season in a really crazy way. Good players, obviously top, top coached and that will be a tough one.

"So, we need Anfield. We need Anfield 100 per cent – it must be a European night in England for that."

Asked about timeframes for the injuries, the Reds boss responded: "With Diogo, it will obviously take rather months.

"It's with the injuries as well, so like you have important days. So, day five, day 10, they are always important days when you then judge the situation again because nobody reacts in the same way and it depends on the pain level they still have and stuff like this.

"I couldn't give you a timeframe even if I wanted to, so that's just how it is. When you don't have these players available, it makes no sense as well to say, 'OK, they will not be in before...'

"How I said, they all react different to different issues and that's what we want to take this time."

Limping to the fucking finish line then.

Need to keep going and grind out results but it's sadly trying to hold onto 3rd and win a cup or two now I fear.

It would be absolutely amazing if we were able to ride out these injuries and win the league - an incredible effort, truly incredible and one to be dead fucking proud of.

That interview reads different to how it sounded. The context of the questions is important, for example on Jota the question was about weeks or months for Jones and Jota, he didn't really give an answer other than to say Jones will be weeks, he went on to mention day 5 and day 10, I assume that was with Jota and surgery in mind. The context of Ali seems to be taken up wrong too, I took "foreseeable " to mean tomorrow and Sunday, others think we need to purchase a head stone.

Bottom line is it is clearly still mostly up in air...we are only a short number of days removed from when injuries happened - we are in a busy period of games and travel etc - probably just need to get this week done and then they'll know more have better ideas of timescales etc....

Like you I'm a Jota fan but the midfield right now is a huge worry. I've  yet to be convinced beyond Endo, Mac, Dom and Curtis so with 2 of those gone.

Edit: I could have obviously added Thiago but there seems little point

It was really vague, as vague as I can ever remember him being. What I do know for certain is caution always wins out with Klopp. The teamsheet tomorrow comment I asume refers to Darwin and possibly Mo if the rumours were true, neither will start tomorrow. By Forest i think we have a fully fit sqaud bar Diogo and the longterm guys.

Well one cup will be gone by Sunday.

It's alright, Garth Crooks said injuries are just part of football. He was supposed to be praising Mo Salah but used it as an opportunity to have a go, the fucking toad!

Could have really done with Thiago or Bajectic giving us a few weeks. The Norwich game is surely going to be a team of kids. Even if it means losing it

Tell you what the team we have either on loan or injured isn't half bad

---------------------Alisson

Trent--Matip--Van den Berg--Beck

-----------------------Morton

-----------------Thiago-----Bajectic

Szoboszlai------------Jota------Carvalho
