It's fucking mad when we learn more from the international managers.

In fairness, there's are benefits to us in terms of Klopp not fully showing his hand on stuff like this. There'd be a distinct disadvantage in us being so honest about every injury that opposition managers know exactly what they might be facing.

Except he always says when they're back!

There's time I listen to klopp in the press conferences and I think he's not interested in injured players. Once they're not available to him, he just gets on until they're back, so he's not pushing the medical team for exact updates.

Was it Shanks or Paisley who famously didn't want anything to do with injured players?

Fucks sake not Jota again....

Jürgen Klopp has confirmed Liverpool will need to check on the fitness of Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota following the 1-1 draw at Manchester City on Saturday.

The pair picked up knocks at Etihad Stadium that will require further assessment from the Reds’ medical team to determine the severity of them.

Alisson went down holding his leg in stoppage-time, but was able to continue. Jota, meanwhile, was forced from the field in the 54th minute.

Klopp told his post-match press conference: “The shadow on this game is obviously that Ali felt something and Diogo felt something – something we have to assess and then we will see.”

Expanding further on Alisson's fitness, the boss added: "I hope it’s not that serious, but I don't have the answer - no clue in the moment what it is.

"I spoke to him and he said he only felt [it] a little bit, but we have to wait for the scan."

Jota was holding his hamstring when he went down. You can't rely on that lad to stay fit.

Jürgen Klopp has confirmed both Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota are facing spells on the sidelines due to injury.

Alisson and Jota each sustained issues during last weekend’s 1-1 Premier League draw at Manchester City.

Asked for an update on the pair at his pre-LASK press conference today, the manager said both are unavailable for Thursday’s fixture and beyond.

“Both are out,” said Klopp. “With Ali it’s a bit lesser, so we have to see – not day by day, he will not play tomorrow, not on Sunday, probably not the week after. Then it should be kind of OK.

“Diogo will take a little bit longer, we don’t know exactly how long, but it’s a bit more severe. We have to see.”

On whether Alisson’s injury specifically is not as bad as initially feared, Klopp added: “No, but bad enough. Bad enough.”

Jota is really becoming one of those players who just can't stay fit for a sustained time and has a lengthy absence pretty much every season......shame.

Sounds like Alisson will be out until the Man Utd game.

The intervening games shouldn't be a problem for Queef.

It's worth remembering that we won the League (and the European Super Cup) in a season which started with Adrián deputising for an injured Ali.  I'm not pissing my pants just yet.

I'm a big fan of Kelleher as a solid deputy, but having Alisson is like going into a tight game 1-0 up. Two Europa League games and fixtures against Fulham, Sheffield United and Crystal Palace should be manageable though.

Agree that Jota's inability to stay fit is a real problem for us, similar to Curtis Jones. Both really good footballers and important to how we play, and to make things worse, both a bit shite for their first couple of games after any return.
