PODCAST: 2022/23 Season Preview and Predictions

Another new season is upon us so that means predictions. Can we go one better than last season or will we be pipped to the post by City yet again? What about the rest of the top four, and will Everton finally stop circling the drain and be sucked down?

 

Chris Smith is joined by Julian Richards, Ian Brown and TLW Editor Dave Usher to look ahead to the upcoming season, while we also get predictions from the rest of the team before we preview the opening day trip to Fulham.

Just listened to this in the car with my mum on the way down to Wales. We both enjoyed it very much.  She talked about reporting you to Ofcom for the swearing although laughed at the phrase ‘ I haven’t just pulled this out of my arse.’

One of my favourite things about doing these is hearing the little anecdotes about where and how people are listening and how it fits into their day. Puts a proper smile on my face. Nice one.

I posted this another thread this morning before I heard the pod. 

 

We seem to have an exceptional amount of players not going to the world cup this year given our current standing in the game. Most of our squad will virtually have a mid-season break. 

 

Definitely not going:

Kelleher

Ramsay Matip Robertson Tsimikas

Keita Milner Jones 

Ox Salah Diaz

Adrian 

 

May not go: Konate Gomez Thiago Elliot Carvalho Firmino 

 

It is possible that we could only lose 7. That could have a huge bearing on the season. 

 

City will probably have

KDB Rodri Silva

Foden Alvarez Grealish

 

Stones Ake Phillips Gundogan. 

 

That's 15. They currently only have a 1st tram squad (aside from kids) of 18 players.
