When I was growing up in the late 60s ( finding it hard to continue past that line but bear with me....) and early 70s a lot of what we saw on telly or did in school was about how things will be in the year 2000.....flying round on jetpacks, motorways in the skies, wearing baco foil suits etc etc, and I used to think "In 2000 I'll be 38......my hair will have gone, I'll have hair growing out of my nose and ears, I'll have lost my teeth and I'll be wearing shit old cardies....." I thought 38 was ancient.

Fuck.

I had exactly the same thoughts myself. But as I was only 33 in 2000 you've made me feel a lot better.

What a thread!

Sure it's cheered everyone up. In summary;

Nearly dead.

Fat.

Bald.

Depressed.

Addiction problems.

Water leaks.

Alcoholism.

Kidding oneself.

Think that was just page 1.

Not a great resume, but at least you have the sun there.

43.

On the subject of looking younger than people your age, the lad in my local shop said I looked about early 30s. I was made up. And, this interaction wasn’t 13 years ago.

The majority of my mates of my age or a bit older definitely don’t look their age. But, some of my old school mates who I’m friends with are looking proper old and ropey.
