Falling behind and then going on an outstanding run is never going to be good enough, because they always have that little bit of leeway and simply won’t fail to do enough to get over the line. Last season, for instance - Yeah, we did well to almost catch them, but it was never going to be enough because from that point onwards, they weren’t going to allow themselves to drop any more points until there was a buffer.

It is fucking relentless and frankly soul destroying.

 

When you need mid 90's - maybe high 90's to fight for league, it just makes every week so stressful - you can barely afford to drop any points and then even long winning runs are not enough - what did we do in 2nd half of last season - only dropped pts in 2 games and they were not defeats they were draws with the best and 4th best sides in the land respectively and it still wasn't enough....

 

We are ubeaten in this calendar year - we have been racking up pts totals that win pretty much every league in history before all this shite started and still it isn't enough.

 

It seems mad people are down and almost defeatist after 1 game, but this is where things are given where the cheating bastards have moved the bar to.

It's not bed wetting, it's blatantly fucking obvious. Christ City gave us a 3 point start last season and still won it. We're giving them a 2 point head start, and we don't have a midfield, and they've now got a number 9 who will score 40+!

 

We won't be within 35 points of them!

Not just that Haaland is scoring, they've dominated West Ham easily. Maybe in big games, their shape and control won't be as good with him up front, but today they've easily bossed it.
