We’ve really come a long way, as The Athletic points out this pre season (putting less commercial pressures on the squad who appear very settled.)

“It’s certainly a far cry from the circumstances surrounding Liverpool’s last trip to Thailand seven years ago. Fans were restless and Rodgers was fighting for his job after narrowly surviving an end-of-season review following a disastrous end to 2014-15 that culminated in a 6-1 humiliation at Stoke City. Coaches Mike Marsh and Colin Pascoe had been sacked with Sean O’Driscoll appointed assistant manager. Pep Lijnders and Gary McAllister were also added to the first-team staff.

Steven Gerrard had just brought the curtain down on his Anfield career, Raheem Sterling had belatedly forced through a move to Manchester City, Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini had been left behind as Liverpool tried to off-load them, while Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho were absent following their commitments at the Copa America.

Rodgers cut an agitated figure as he tried to convince the owners to trigger Christian Benteke’s £32.5 million release clause. On the second leg of the trip in Brisbane, he eventually got his wish. Within three months Rodgers had gone and the Belgian attacker didn’t last much longer.

Liverpool lined up against the Thai All Stars in Bangkok in July 2015  with Adam Bogdan in goal and Rickie Lambert up front.”

I never ever ever ever ever ever ever want to similar times. Ever.

Can't wait to see Nunez in action. When's the first game?

I doubt any of the players who return today / tomorrow will play on Tuesday.

Possibly Friday, more likely the 21st.

A lot of people thought signing Lambert was a good idea.

I’d like to see the below setup given a go.

4-2-3-1

Kelleher; Gomez, Konate, Matip, Milner; Henderson, Thiago; Elliott, Carvalho, Diaz; Firmino

It’d be brilliant if Elliott and Carvalho really hit it off early on. It’s a bit of a risk using them both regularly once the season starts but if Klopp thinks they are ready then they are ready.

Would like to see Bajcetic and Frauendorf. Look like players with a lot of promise.

Has Musialowski been loaned out/is he on the the verge of being loaned out?

Seems to have lost some momentum and isn't even included in the 37 man squad.

He hasn’t been loaned out, he played for the second team yesterday. He’s still very weak physically and we aren’t short of senior players in his position.

Fair enough, I wasn't really expecting him to get games, a lot of those young players in the list won't they're just there for the training and being around the first team squad.

Just noticed Gordon's not their either (who I probably would have expected to get some game time).

Biggest name missing from the list is Kelleher - Had seen him in some of the training vids on the offal, so I wonder if he’s picked up a knock.

Ben Davies, Calvin Ramsay and Neco Williams miss out as well - We know that Calvin has a slight injury that requires treatment which is why he misses out. Neco is supposedly having his medical at Forest ahead of his move, and I assume Ben Davies has a move lined up, which will be why he misses the trip too.

Of the youngsters to miss out, Kaide Gordon is the highest profile absentee (assuming he’s still recovering from injury). Didn’t expect Musialowski to be involved with the first team this pre-season - he’s simply not ready for the physical side of it.

Had only seen the comment about the injury that he’s had and that he’s not in team training as a result - He’s doing fitness work but being monitored by the medical department.

Would make more sense for him to stay and work with the medical team that have stayed at the AXA, but there is a possibility that he has travelled and is working with the travelling medical staff.

Depending on his injury, if going doesn't aggravate it, then the experience in the long term to realise the size of the club would be really valuable i think

Agreed that the experience would be massive for the lad, though to be fair he has many, many years ahead of him to see just how big the club is.

No info on why he’s missing from the travelling party, as yet. I’m assuming a knock of some kind, or perhaps a positive Covid test…

I can’t see him missing out due to a move, unless we’ve got another keeper lined up to come in when we return from Singapore.  We’ve let 3 of the highly rated young keepers go out on loan already, and despite Harvey Davies and Fabian Mrozek being highly rated too, neither of those 2 are ready for first team football, let alone the number 2 role.
