I've just fought off 3 wasps which came in through the window. Sent them to oblivion via a rolled up newspaper.

Whoooooah! Wasps are class. They also eat flies and loads of other bastards.

There's 7000 species of wasp just in the UK but the ones people hate are the yellow jackets. Pretty sure it's not a French militant thing. You can put some jam in a small tray of water away from where you're sitting and they'll leave you alone.

Without wasps we'd be overrun with flies and other insects.

I've tried everything from zappers to sprays to herbs and lavender based products but to no avail.

3 weeks ago I put up a wooden beaded fly curtain over the back patio door, this thing has like 5cm gaps between each vertical row. And yet, I have noticed an incredible decline in the amount of flies coming into the kitchen even though we have an extra cat now meaning more food lying about.

Tried it as a last resort and I'm made up it's working.
