Beige bands and artistes

Boyz II Men. They had the harmonies down pat and were hugely successful (especailly Stateside) but all their stuff was boring as fuck.

You're just trolling.

 Not in the slightest.

Both just bore the arse off me - i can't even be bothered to hate them or call them shite - they are to me the absolute definition of "beige".

Dull, uninteresting - just there.

Pearl Jam are pretty dull yeah.

Freaks my nut out to this day that Green River split to reveal the genius of Mudhoney and on the other side the bland beige shite of Pearl Jam.

Pearl Jam

Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Come off it.

80's and early 90's RHCP whilst not to everyone's taste were not beige.

Same with Pearl Jam, yes there were better 'grunge' bands that deserved more recognition but they have some great songs.

Coldplay; liked by people who aren't really into music, but think it's trendy to do so. They're just a poor man's Radiohead, with far less talent.

The same could be said about Ed Sheeran, Adele....and going back probably Dido (which is possibly slightly harsh).

I actually bought a Dido CD once and I can't for the life of me remember why; I don't recall ever being the sort of person who would buy a Dido CD.

Skynyrd?

Nah.

Tuesdays Gone and Simple Man are legitimate classics.

Edit: Actually it’s been overplayed to shit but Freebird is fucking brilliant.

Now going to listen to ‘Pronounced…’ from start to finish.

Freebird is utter wank. It starts off slow and tedious, then goes fast and tedious.

I think I only know Jeremy by Pearl Jam. It's a song I recognise when it's on but I couldn't sing it myself without it being on. I've probably heard it hundreds of times but no idea of the lyrics.

It's no Touch Me I'm Sick.

I guess it's one more than Stone Temple Pilots like.

Yeah, I tried to use it as one, but I couldn't see what all the fuss was about. I ended up just walking around with it gripped between my butt-cheeks.  Did wonders for my posture, mind.

Not in my book.

Beige as it gets.

That is the thing with music - is is subjective.

One mans meat etc. . .

Red Hot Chili Peppers are for people who go the Krazy House who have never heard Sly & The Family Stone.

I have frequented the Krazy House on many occasions but I have also heard of and listened to SATFS.

And I liked early Chili Peppers

Maroon 5

Imagine Dragons

Can't agree with Maroon 5, they are offensively turgid and the guy's voice is goes right through me. I hope they fall down the stairs directly into a chip pan fire whilst contemplating how fucking awful she will be loved is.

The Californication album could be used here. Over-played, bland, samey. Like day 5 eating your batch cooked slow cooker three bean chilli. Listening to it was like going through the motions.

Saw an interview with her and she was talking about her sales spiking after she collaborated with Eminem on Stan. Imagine angry, misogynistic young men getting that home, sparking up a blunt and listening to her through their knock-off beats. Glorious.

Yes, and every cunt had it. Mainly because they thought they had to.

I think they're a great shout. A phenomenally boring band.
