He's harmless, a nice bloke who obviously has plenty of demons and very few brain cells.

Can’t help but like him though.

Agree.

The shit he gets for some of the stuff he says, especially by some people on here, is hilarious.

There are more idiotic statements made by a majority on here compared to anything Merson has ever said.

Ole apparently in negotiation with a major club to become head coach according to the BBC……..there’s only one major club I can think of stupid enough to employ him. Get him back at the wheel with the chuckle brothers Gary and Rio as his assistants.

Is seven hag still in a job? Got to wonder if Southgate is saying this because he's been approached? Maybe they're just sucking it up for the season and get Sir Gareth in in the summer? I heard something on the radio suggesting Southgate might prefer a more admin role. I wonder if he's thinking get a young coach to take the flack and he can sit in the background booking hotels and all those things he excelled at for England?

He had talks with Denmark, but turned them down.

There might be a club in the background, or he is waiting for the Norway job after the next World Cup or the World Cup qualifiers most likely.

Merson is sound. Doesn’t say everything we wanna hear from pundits because not everyone is a Liverpool fan. What a player.

Theres a documentary or two with him in being quite reflective, one is that ex England players on tour one, he’s pretty sound.

But anything he says on Sky is so moronic it’s hard to take him seriously.

I felt sorry for him on the England one. He was genuinely concerned for that prick Ruddock.

All pundits chat a load of brown mate. It keeps them in work because it generate clicks. The only ones who are straight are Keane, Redknapp, Sue Smith and Michael Dawson. I think Carragher believes what he says as well.

Yes, Benni!

You tell 'em lad.

Well they did do an exhaustive review in the summer so it would be folly of them to go back on their findings so soon.

It might make look like clueless fuckwits.

On the back of their exhaustive recruitment process to hire him in the first place.

No wonder that twat Neville is desperate for the Mancs to build a new stadium.

Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville’s Hotel Football loses £600k in a year

Hotel co-owned by Manchester United legends has yet to show a net profit since its launch in 2015, but could benefit from regeneration of area around Old Trafford

The redevelopment of Old Trafford could be a boost for Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs after company results revealed the hotel co-owned by the former Manchester United stars remains in the red.

Neville, 49, and Giggs, 50, are directors of Old Trafford Supporters’ Club Ltd, the owner of Hotel Football which, although it had its best ever year, has yet to show a net profit since launching in 2015. The latest results for 2023 show that though the revenues for the hotel — located close to United’s home ground — increased and it made a £590,000 operating profit, interest on the £8.8million net debt contributed to a £601,000 loss. Insiders insist it is the highest-performing hotel of its standard in the area.

A statement by Neville, who is a member of the new Old Trafford Regeneration Task Force, in the company’s accounts says: “Unfortunately during the year, the rise in bank interest rates meant that interest on the debt increased by £385,000 year on year. 2024 has started off positively for the hotel and despite the considerably lower number of Manchester United home games, which has an impact on the hotel’s revenues, conversion to profit remains healthy.”

Kieran Maguire, a football finance author, said: “These results show the difficulty of operating in the hospitality sector, and this is the type of business that would benefit if the Old Trafford regeneration takes place.”

Results show the company has lost a total of £9.5million since its launch and owes £10.5million to its immediate parent company, Orchid Leisure, which is registered in the British Virgin Islands. The ultimate controlling party is the Singaporean businessman Peter Lim, who sold his 40 per cent stake in Salford City FC to Neville in August.
