Also, it's hilarious how Neville turned up his nose at Conte who's completely turned around Spurs at a fraction of the cost United have incurred.

The issue with Conte is he's volatile. No one would question how good a manager he is. Man United, who should only care about winning stuff at this point because they haven't for a while, obviously shouldn't have cared about that volatility. They clearly should have hired him.

With Spurs, it's a different story because they don't have the resources or cache of Man United so it's fair to ask if they were the right fit for Conte. But if they continue backing him and he is happy, of course he can be the right man.

That may be your take. But you don't speak on behalf of the forum and the proof is all there.

Conte needs millions, Conte won't last until the summer,  Conte won't make top 4.

Utter wibble.

I’m not laughing at the mancs problems until we’ve given them the biggest, sloppiest, stickiest, facial, right in the eyes and hair, on the 22nd.

I agree with the sentiment but the imagery is not the best.

Well I'll speak for myself and say that I thought he was a very good appointment and I'm very glad he didnt go to United. Spurs will be in the mix this season and could win a trophy. They have to make sure they raise their game against minnows as well as the big clubs.

I understand the Mancs not going for Conte IF they wanted the next manager to start from scratch and build something lasting.  And the early signs were decent for them, especially giving Pogba short shrift.  But now it just appears more of the same for them, with this Ronaldo business and Ferguson hanging around like a bad smell.

Still, early days of course.

If they wanted instant gratification they should have gone for Conte.

Neville and other people who were around the club talked endlessly about how mourinho's disruptive style had been seen as disasterous at board level in the club and they wanted to avoid any manager who comes in and makes his way by battling publically with the board. I can understand that. It's not unreasonable to want to extend a no dickheads rule beyond the players and into the coaching and managerial staff. Obviously that then doesn't explain why you'd then go and sign the walking ego that is Ronaldo.
