Those were the days. Lost to us by the ubiquitous availability of phone technology. I remember a bloke calling in on 606 who claimed back in the 1980s he used to fake the presenter reading out full time scores and take a cassette radio to matches to spoof the crowd as they were leaving the ground. Made up crazy 9.0 or 10.0 score lines for the Manc derby etc then played the tape loudly to widespread shock and consternation amongst the immediate crowd. People are strange.
