  1. 1. Should we sign him?

One thing I have noticed; as I dave and Stig have said previously; If you release the ball quicker to him he has the pace to get past the defender and knock the ball in.

Hopefully with Trent playing further forward ( I hope anyway) that will happen.

Needed 7 shots though, am I right?

Not sure how many chances he missed but he could've had several in the first half. At one point he tried passing instead of shooting but he was right near the goal and probably could've scored if he'd gone for it. Good to see he's still managing to score regularly though.

There has also been very valid counter arguments to that though !!!

The best way for Nunez to score more goals is to improve his finishing, he gets more than enough chances.

Hopefully this summer has proven to everybody, including Trent himself, his best position is right back.

Looks like he played well. There were a couple of good / unlucky efforts in there, we seem to say that all the time.

If he can keep up this scoring form then I'm not arsed about his misses, and we shouldn't even need to talk about it much.

Salah misses loads but he scores quite a few of them too, it doesn't get spoken about that often because we don't care that much about the misses.

Just lay off the negativity and appreciate him for the peacock that he is.

Fuck me. You been cunting Nunez off since before he kicked a ball for us, yet it are "supporters" that are in the wrong.

It was more a defence of Heskey than an attack on Nunez, I think it's fair to say that for as much warranted criticism as Nunez has received he's also been incredibly well supported something that Heskey wasn't a beneficiary of..

We're at the end of the two years you wanted to give Nunez before judging now aren't we, did he meet your expectations?

His goal record under Bielsa is around a goal a game, prior to his arrival it was 1 in 5.

His odds have been cut to be top scorer at the Copa. International football normally kills us but be good for us if he can come back brimming full of confidence.

Never known a Liverpool player to have his performances as scrutinised as much as this guy, even after international friendlies against nobodies you’ll have thousands of replies across different platforms talking about him.

Being used a lot of the flanks to accommodate for Suarez under the old coach wasn’t he? Now Suarez has taken more of a impact role, Nunez is showing what he can do as the main man playing every game. Honestly couldn’t be happier for him, hope he gets his hand on that Copa America prize.

I'm still not even be a tiny bit arsed about Nunez. I think he's a good player, contributes loads. He could clearly contribute more, but honestly there are very few players in our team who I wouldn't say that about. While team results were in general pretty decent until the last quarter, individual performances were way below what I'd expect for pretty much the entire season.

Darwin Nunez | £85m | Benfica | 2022 The Uruguayan will become the most expensive player in Liverpool history, should he fulfill his rich potential at Anfield

When he's in a red shirt then it can restart, playing for his country in competition that has nothing to do with Liverpool and historically a competition Liverpool fans could careless about but instead of letting him crack on you got muppets assessing his every game, rushing to the internet to find out how many misplaced passes, missed chances, xG, offsides and whatever else they can use against him as if it's some kind of necessity in their lives, fucking relax and enjoy your summer.

With exceptional price tag and expectations comes exceptional scrutiny, that was kind of my point.

It's almost a Pavlovian fervour to see him do badly though, from Liverpool 'supporters'.

A lazy point that fans only use as and when it suits them, plus my counter argument was distinguishing between club and country. He's doing everything he can to lead Uruguay to the Copa America, yet every turn you take it seems impossible for people to be happy for him.

El Pais - "Darwin 2 in 2 at the Copa America as Uruguay hit Bolivia for 5"

Liverpool fans - "Yeah but how many chances did he need"

Trent and Mo are 100x more scrutinsed than Szobo or Ibou, so why is that if 'exceptional price comes with exceptional scrutiny'
