Barry Wom has been all over this for months, but players shouldn't even need to take a touch or even have a look. They should know in certain situations to just fire it round the corner first time because he'll be running. Leicester did this with Vardy all the time. We never do it.

Does my head in seeing him make a run and then keep having to try and hold it to stay onside because the midfielder is taking an extra touch before even looking in his direction. It also really frustrates me when he makes a run but the ball goes to someone else who then plays the pass, when he's now offside.

The criticism of the finishing is fair, he needs to calm the fuck down and be more cerebral when he's through on goal, but the offside stuff does my head because it's often not his fault. We're actually pretty terrible at playing him in, even Macca hasn't been great at it but he's easily the best (other than Trent).

The offsides that do my head are the ones when he's facing his own goal and is too slow getting back onside when the ball is played up to him. Those are sloppy as fuck and there's no excuse. The ones when he's doing his job and making a run in behind only for the ball to arrive too late are not the same and I'll defend him on those all day.

More cerebral?

Golden Boot in League and Champions League next season.

Baby steps let's see if he can become top scorer at the club first, hell even a consistent scorer.

I’m told that there’s no Uruguayan or Mexican word for ‘friendly’.

What's the Uruguayan or Mexican equivalent for 'couldn't hit the side of a Renault Espace'?

What European based players do they have besides a badly out of sorts Raul Jimenez? Lozano now in the MLS, The West Ham lad started and the Feyenoord lad came on.

Im no expert on Mexican football (or any other country), however, just comparing it to the Concacaf final team a couple of months ago the below were not picked and all play in Europe. Granted Ochoa is getting on a bit now.

Ochoa GK

Sanchez RB

Montes CB

Vasquez CB

Chavez CM

So after 2 years of being mostly shit, missing chances, being shit at pressing, having hardly any link up play, not winning headers

We are now saying he makes good runs and it's everyone else's fault for not passing to him quicker?

Mother fuckers how many 1v1 chances has this guy missed? He's been through on goal tons of times and fucked it up. But we need to pass to him quicker so he gets more chances and the law of averages works in his favour?

Fucking hell lads. He's shit. Just face it. Enough of the excuses. Get rid and move on.

If he doesnt make good runs how does he get all those 1v1 chances you’re talking about?

His flaws so far are obvious, and the same goes for his strengths. Stating otherwise is just daft, and that applies for both sides.

He scored again in Uruguay's first Copa America game.

I fear the cultural appropriation police will try to cancel him now.

The poor lad can’t catch a break.

Amazing how he looks an absolute beast when playing for his country. Totally different player.

International footy is a standard or two below top flight domestic football in the top leagues. Let’s just hope he comes back full of confidence and beans.
