My only worry about this deal is that it’ll collapse last minute if Klopp reads the forum and realises he’s a shite Andy Carroll.

He looks less like The Kurgan than Carroll does so that's a plus.

Big fee if you think we got Diaz for half the price and was regarded as the best player in Portugal. Also in January and from a much more finically stable club.

Porto were in the shit in December/Jan, we game them a down payment on Diaz before we'd even signed him just so Porto could satisfy the UEFA's FFP requirements and stay in the competition.

Wonder how Carvalho will benefit from someone like Nunez given he's used to playing off Mitrovic.

Nunez is young, fast, a good finisher and the best striker available this summer.

If we're briefing that it's down to price and we're not doing a bidding war then I don't think we'll get him. Tried the same tactic with Tchouameni, the player wasn't particularly arsed about digging his heels in for a move to us, and he's going to Madrid now.

If Nunez decides he's moving to us or no-one then we'll use that as leverage to get the price down. I don't see him being that bothered though, Man Utd will offer whatever he wants in wages, Atleti can probably match that as well, and regardless of what players say that's the #1 motivation in any move.

Benfica are in a similar situation and still haven’t qualified for the champions league. Maybe we should wait and see if Tottenham make a bid and let Levy negotiate.

Not always. Van Dijk didn't want money

There's a difference between Madrid and Man United/Atletico, I'd argue. The way this is panning out it seems likely Nunez wants to come here and the main issue will be trying to agree the fee.
