  1. 1. Should we sign him?

Not convinced by him.

From the admittedly very little i have seen of him i am not a fan - think he is a bit of prima donna and not sure he'd fit in, plus could if did turn out good see him having two good seasons and fluttering his eyelids at Barcelona/Real Madrid.

He's very big, very fast, looks to be a good finisher, he's only 22 and gave both Virgil and Konate a very hard time over two legs.

No idea if we're in for him or if it's agent talk but with Mane going, we should he all over him. Seeing as we play 98% of games with teams camped in their own box, it would be great to have a proper target for Trent and Robbo to aim crosses at when we can't play our way through.

From videos I’ve seen he doesn’t look like a target man though. Despite his size, the way he plays isn’t too dissimilar to our other forwards.

Yeah, if we signed him, he'd move between the left and the middle. The positioning wouldn't be very different to what we already have. He certainly wouldn't be static in the centre.

The difference would be his physical element, bigger size, more presence in the penalty area, intense runs off the shoulder of defenders.

I think he’s got all the attributes to be a very good central striker. A bit of pace, physicality, good movement, can finish with either foot and is good with his head too.

But, there’s the issue of whether he’d fit into our system or whether we’d have to make tweaks to how we play to get the best out of him. Not sure they’d be massive tweaks though.

I’m in the yes camp but with an acknowledgement that it’d probably take a bit of time until we saw the best of him.

This.

Let's cut these 2 season signings out.  If you come then you're in for 4 seasons minimum.

I, for one, think he’d be perfect for us. I do own a pram, and I have toys. Well prepared to throw them out should he go someplace else. Also, his name is Darwin. And he’s from Uruguay. I’d love to find a reason to root for them again.

Very unlikely we've bid anywhere near 100million for him.

€100m is £85m.

Look at Diaz. Overall cost could rise to £50m but it’s £35m guaranteed.

If 30% of any Nunez bid is incentives, then it’s £60m guaranteed and £25m in bonuses.

Still seems like a lot.

We’ll see. I posted some Uruguayan reporter yesterday saying he was closer to the mancs, then Lynch saying we won’t go OTT for him and I’ve no idea how reliable Portugal Record is

I’m all in, I knew he’d reject the mancs, clearly putting ambition ahead of money, gonna be better than Haaland etc etc

After reading that I'm now convinced he'll be better than peak Original Ronaldo.
