We were this close to (perhaps underservedly) beating them at Anfield earlier this season...

Why is he taking so long to shoot?!

You see this is why I havent been on here for a number of weeks, the type of poster who tells others what to think and instead, only 'my' view counts.

Listen, I didnt see the flare get thrown from our fans and mentioned what I saw. If the flare came from our fans first, then I agree, whoever threw it should be looking at a lifetime ban.

Ive repeatedly said I see the domestic cups as distractions. Why should I 'appreciate them' given that?

Im happy other people had the opportunity to see the wins at Wembley. But, you'll never convince me playing extra games and 120 minute finals doesnt have knock on effects on player performance and ultimately winning or losing the PL and CL titles.

Angry? Have you listened to the podcast yet? I really dont get why you have yet again singled my post out despite many others expressing similar views.

Hey pal, I didn’t realise I was singling you out or telling you what to think. You posted a long post shortly after I posted a long post so I commented on it. That’s all.

I’ve listened to the first 20 minutes of it when I had a break between meetings but thats all. Are you on the pod?

on the flare, I guessed you didn’t see it, but I did and that’s why I corrected you. I wasn’t calling you out, just telling you it was our pricks who caused it.

anyway, no need to say anymore. I’ve not got any issue with you, none at all.

Ok, so I’ve just looked and apparently you can’t. Sorry for doubting you @Mil-ing Around

Ha no worries mate, took me until I was about 22 years old and playing Sunday league until I realised you can't be offside from a goal kick. Strange rule that lots of people don't know about. We just need to get that info to Konate now

In fairness, not just Konaté - the whole back four were holding a line five yards too high.

Still absolutely gutted with what happened yesterday.

We should have 3 league titles but due to financial cheating we have been denied.

At least in Italy when clubs were found to be cheating they had their titles taken away and relegated.

Here though nothing will happen. I'd be all for the super league if City and PSG we told to get to fuck.

Watching united dominate the 90s hurt but they built their success and you had to begrudgingly accept and respect that.

This lot however have just took this piss and dont deserve a thing they win.

Football in this country is fucking ruined and they are going out again in the summer to spend another fortune.

Sky owned a stake in many clubs at the time, including Sunderland and Leeds. They went public and anyone could buy their shares, even you. I dislike United almost as much as anyone, but they’re a proper football club, and well run financially.

Bollocks! They almost sold their club to a con-man named Michael Knighton and were a game away from sacking Ferguson after years of under achievement. Their stars aligned at the right time and then they bullied everybody into submission because they shit their pants. They were no better run than anybody else for a long time.

The question you need to ask yourself is, what if ours and uniteds roles were reversed? Would you want the red mancs to win because they've somewhat earned it? or the blue mancs because its a hollow victory but at the same time football loses a bit more of its soul?

This and let's not forget Mike Riley and his particular brand of friendly refs helping them along as well

There is certainly some selective reasoning going on.

I remember plenty of gripes in the 90s and 00s that we couldn't compete with utd financially.

I'm also struggling to buy into the notion that just because they were a well supported club this somehow means they deserved success on the field.

Fergie time.

That infamous picture of them screaming at the referee.

Fergison harraunging every official who dared to give a decision against them.

Yep they did it the right way ok.

The 'well supported club' line meant absolutely nothing to their owners for decades, especially as this is what led to the Michael Knighton circus and almost fiasco. The only reason being well supported now means ££££££ is that you can charge kids hundreds of pounds for a kit that their Asian counterparts make in their sweatshops for only a fraction of that price.

They looked into Fergie time, and there was no statistical evidence behind this. They almost sold their club to a conman years ago, well we actually did sell our club to two con men a few years back but you wouldn’t use that to group the club in the same bracket as City and Chelsea. There are actually levels to this.

So Ferguson never intimidated officials?

That Sheffield Weds game at home in April 1993; 0-1 down into injury time....somehow conjure up 2 goals to win.....that's the start of it, and when you knew they were never beaten...as the refs would almost play until they scored.

Probably, but many managers do as well as players. I’m not saying it was acceptable but not really comparable to Abramovich’s involvement at Chelsea did and what the Arabs are doing with Man City and Spurs.

Ferguson was the 1st one to utilise it fully with a compliant media in tow.

He turned intimidation into an art form..remember that linesman who gave a penalty against them and I don't think he officiated a game at old Trafford again?

No one before him had the influence or clout he had.

Yeah, didn't Clattenburg or someone else say they all gave Utd the 50:50s for fear of not upsetting Ferguson.

I remember them playing Portsmouth in the cup I think and he walked off the pitch utterly berating the referee.

No one before had the influence he had.

Because of the way he'd bully journalists (anyone who tried to call out his bullshit would be denied access to - arguably - the biggest club in the country, which would undoubtedly hinder their career) when he said "the referee was a disgrace" the media would slavishly repeat it; saving themselves from grief, but dropping the referee in it. The shithouse at PGMOL wouldn't have the spuds to defend their officials, they'd just make sure that any ref who drew his ire wouldn't be assigned to United matches. It's hard to blame the individual refs for taking the easier option.

That's the main reason I take issue with anyone lauding his "greatness". He was a cunt and a bully.
