Scary how much better we are than most sides now. Even a couple of years back a game like that would have been a banana skin but we look like we can just sweep people away with our eyes closed. It's an incredible team when we're sucking diesel.

That centreback did his best Maguire impression there, neither sticking or twisting.

By the time he decided to go to Mo, the ball is already through his legs!

You can see Mo light up when he realises that Torres hasn't gone with him

How many genuinely world class players did we have out of our best Starting 11 and subs last night?

World class:

Alison

Trent

Virg

Joel

Robbo

Thiago

Fab

Sadio

Mo

Konate - will be someday.

Hendo - great player but not world class.

Diaz - will probably be called it by the end of next season.

Subs

Naby - No

Div - Leg.

Gomez - injuries have really prevented him showing his true potential.

Jota - excellent striker. Not world class imo.

That's some serious talent on display.

Edit. Forgot Joel!

Only three or four of them make it into Tony Bellew’s combined Merseyside XI.

It wasn't all on Macca. But, rumours grow and all of a sudden boss players for us get slagged off as if they aren't part of the clubs history.

Call Diouf a cunt, every second of everyday absolutely but fucking hell. Steve McManaman and Jamie Carragher? Local lads who gave this club some amazing moments and large parts of their lives. Doesn't sit right with me people calling them cunts.

With you on that. I think Carra and Macca are not great pundits but as players they deserve respect. At the timewhen Macca left the club was negotiating a contract with him while talking to Barcelona about selling him.

McManaman left the club because he saw out his contract without signing an extension so the club could get a transfer fee, which they didnt. He signed for Real Madrid on a free and obviously made a packet and had a good career there. If there was a transfer fee involved he wouldn't have ended up at Madrid and made a mint. He was a very good player but has always seemed a bit selfish like Owen was. They are both crap analysts/commentators but who isn't!

Mcmanaman's case was very different to Owens . The club were negotiating to sell him while supposedly negotiating a new contract with him . So I can understand him doing what he did.

Yep. The club fucked him over enough for him to say fuck it I'll go where I want.

Can't stand players who have deserved the shirt being called cunts. I don't even mind Carra as a pundit, he just tries too hard to be impartial. Macca.... does my head in. But he was a great player for us and deserves more respect from Reds.

I wasn't comparing McManaman with Owen over their transfers, just how I view their respective personalities.
