Didn’t believe this stat so just checked it. It is correct, the last penalty awarded against us was at Anfield last season - to Everton.

Ridiculous decision as well. But they don’t get given of course.

Having seen that Gordon penalty shout again today, it looks like Matip steps on Gordon's foot as he runs across him. It's a bit manufactured, but you've definitely seen them given. Lampard can obviously fuck off with his "you don't get penalties at Anfield" shite though, as has been pointed out already.

Where were they in the league when Rafa got the boot? The way MOTD and Tyler were going on Lampard is some last roll of the dice saviour.

They had 19 points from 20 games. Lampard has 10 points from 11 games. Rafa has a slightly better points average but to be fair they only had 9 points in his last 15 league games.

It had gone toxic so he probably had to go but Lampard has improved nothing. The fella Jackson at Burnley has won 7 points in 7 days. Lampard has won 10 in 12 weeks.

There is a still a few pages back that clearly shows it the other way around.

Referees favouring us clearly.., this wasn’t even shown on MOTD2

So they've put a complaint in about the penalty decision, we'd do the same about Richarlison if we were as small minded and desperate as they are.

Poison from top to bottom.

It's almost like we are really good and teams don't get in our box as much.

Teams have got to get the ball near our box even think about getting a penalty, first.

I don't think the pundits have noticed it (or someone would have mentioned it) but our defenders play a high line, far ahead of the penalty box.

The thing is I'm happy enough to call the Matip one a "seen them given" but it absolutely wasn't a stone-waller. Look at the reaction in the media - some say it was, some say it wasn't, there's no 100% consensus. So writing to the FA will have one outcome: they can say "you think it was a penalty, the referee thought different" and that's accurate.

Seen them given before VAR. Once you've got the technology to see Gordon step on Matip's foot, there's no justification for giving it.

That's the thing.

Ref was probably 50/50, but if he's made a big error, VAR will let him know.

Otherwise it's one of them that can go either way.

Another angle is if it were Salah, the retoric would be he manufactured it by stepping across Matip, he's a dirty diving foreigner and the ref was spot on.

None of them have mentioned it as they're all fucking clueless.  Also, doesn't fit in with the narrative that the media are pushing now.

I thought the first time they introduced Gordon a few years ago, it was a joke. He was terrible.

To his credit, he does run fast now and has a lot of desire. He's also English so his antics will get no mention. He'll probably become quite an effective player.

This stat annoys me. It's pretty meaningless without context. How many matches is the current second-longest? What is the average length of a penalty-free streak? How many penalties have been awarded this season?
