Misses has just told me that there's some protest going on tonight at 10pm.

Here's the low down: Everyone (disputable) is due to turn their electric off for 10 minutes at 10pm this evening.

I thought it was a Facebook thing but Mumsnet are on it and it's made a few headlines. Here's the in-depth research that I've done in the 10 minutes since finding out:

https://www.euronews.com/green/2022/04/06/your-electricity-could-be-turned-off-for-10-minutes-this-weekend-here-s-why

Why she's that fucking arsed when she turns on the heating and then gets too hot and opens all the fucking windows. Bellend.

Anyway, as you were.

What exactly does switching everything off for ten minutes achieve?

I would think switching everything ON for ten minutes would cause more problems?

Mumsnet have already called out the nonsense.

I agree with the sentiment about having a protest over the shocking gas and leccie prices. But I think boots on streets would be far better way of showing our disgust.

I mean 'we' actually have to pay wind farm generators to switch off their turbines when existing infrastructure can meet the grid's demand. These operators are supposed to be private companies so they should be fully prepared to take the risk of not getting paid when their turbine energy isnt required instead of expecting the grid via customers to cover their 'losses.'

The idea of moaning about renewables at a time when Putin has our bollocks in his hand and the only alternative is buying from the fucking Saudis shows what a fucking moron you are.  Message ends.
