Just to add a video to my nomination. Some pretty good musicians alongside Glen here too

Couldn't read a note and was the anchor to one of the great session bands of all time. Countless hit records he played on. I played golf with him a couple times in AZ. Top fella.

Alice Cooper said Glen was his golfing buddy. He had some problems with the booze and drugs too, which surprised me a bit.

A guy I loosely know, Jon Gomm.

Seen him play loads and sometimes you want to hear an end to the noodling and just hear him bang out a three cord ditty, other times you could listen to him alll day and never tire of the unique way he plays.

A fella who grew up listening to Michael Hedges.

Like.

Labeled a ‘Hendrix Wannabe’ Robin Trower has developed well beyond that over his career (Still tours & records)

As a guitarist, from the age of 15, badly damaging my left hand (fret fingers) in 1979 was traumatic. I lost full use of 3 fingers - one had to be amputated, and it was a long hard slog to return to a place where I could finally enjoy playing again.

Robin’s 1979 release “Victims Of The Fury” wax an inspiring album for me and holds a special place in heart. It got me playing again.

Here’s “Roads To Freedom” from that album

Django Reinhardt name check - I think he has been mentioned.

I always thought the reading music (as a badge of honour) thing was bizarre. You don't need any of that stuff.

It's definitely a very useful tool, especially if you're doing session work.

I don't know about a badge of honour but I would much prefer to have it on my CV than not to have it.
