A lot of debate as to what position he'll play but watching that youtube it's a very similar highlight reel to Keitas Leipzig one before he joined us. Low centre of gravity, beats players through midfield with great balance.

But he still satisfies the homegrown quota?

He does. Homegrown just means they came through the youth system at an English club, nothing to do with nationality.

So this lad's homegrown but will never play for England. Best of both worlds.

I thought he was going to be an understudy for Firmino, but yes from his videos it looks like he could play in a range of positions.

Not in the Champions league he won't, he'll fall into the same trap that Harvey Elliot did.

Needs to be at the club for two years uninterrupted or 3 years with a loan of not longer than 1 year. We had to drop the number of players we registered to 24 because Elliot went on loan to Blackburn last year, Carvalho will need to be at Liverpool for two seasons to qualify.

Stick a tuft of hair on his chin and it's Luis Diaz. If he comes up to the promise of the player he's shown in the Championship, and be like Diaz in more than just looks, then I look forward to seeing him as part of our evolution.

This is how to run a club and buy players for a plan. It obviously helps when there actually is a plan. Along with a team of top class manager and coaches who can identify and then attract the best talent before they get priced out of reach of mere reactionary clubs.

Coutinho-esque

Was just gonna post this. They look similar in style and profile.

Chamberlain kind of replaced Coutinho as the player in the squad who could play both in the front 3 and #8. I think similarly, Carvalho may replace Chamberlain as that player next season.
