Two reasons:

1 - All the hipsters pretending that the tune isn't Bad Moon Rising 

2 - The fact that loads of other cunts have used that tune since (snigger) Everton had a diamond called Ross Barkley. 

 

Don't get me wrong, like, I belt it out at volumes rarely witnessed in the Lower Kenny. I just would have preferred something more original.

Matip deserves the most unconventional song tribute possible. An adaptation of Surf's Up, for example. It would take a whole summer to nail that vocal crescendo at the end, but it would be worth it for the confusion it would cause. Ideally play would have to be paused for seven minutes or so while it's sung.
